Round 1 McGregor wins by KO

They're trading, Lee lands a cracking hook to the body, Guerfi goes down face first, lands on his hands and knees he's writhing in pain, he barely makes it back up. Lee right on him, unloading, Guerfi landing counter, finally Lee goes back to the body, Guerfi goes down again. He's back up. He's back on Guerfi pounding him with body shots, Guerfi's whole body tightens up several times, he almost goes down again, Lee backs him into teh corner, lands several head and body shots, down he goes again. He makes it back up, but the ref mercifully waves it.

Very impressive he looks an improved fighter under new trainer Ben Davison. That was some JCC Sr-esque body punching. As CST said , Farooq is just very good.

the ref stopped the action when he stopped the action and ordered Hyland’s opponent into a neutral corner. He then, for some unknown reason, restarted the action when one of his fighters was unaware he had restarted the action. That is **** poor refereeing. The fighter turned away after the ref had stopped the action, after being bent over by body shots.

Instead of atopping the action and restarting when one fighter was unaware, he should have either:

    1) Issued a count. (Otherwise why stop it at all?)

    2) Stopped the fight.

    3) Made sure both foghters were ready for combat, because one wasn’t because he had stopped the action.

The worst possible thing he could have done, short of punching Hyland in the face himself, would be to allow Hughes to literaly run up behind Hyland and punch him in the face like something from an episode of The 3 Stooges.

    :deal:

He should retire the Lighting moniker. From here on out, he should be referred to as....

    Beast-Lee McGregor.:number_one::sisi1

Even if the ref stops / Breaking the action there is no reason to turn your back and go away. He's in a title fight. Not in a sparring session. I'd rather blame the corner for not throwing the towel than the ref. The ref was a clown for not counting the KD earlier and he looked a bit unfortunate but in the end you're responsible for your actions as a fighter and turning your back is NEVER an option and it's the golden rule. Hylands fault. Easy.

It is easy. Answer me this. Why did the ref direct Hughes into a corner, if not to issue a count?

Why did the ref not iissue a count? Why did the ref stop the action during the action and point a fighter into a corner, then immediately restart the action?

The ref was awful throughout the whole fight, and he almost got a guy hurt because he had no idea what he was doing.

I would love to see Okolie getting battered and knocked out but to be honest...i think Okolie will stop him at some point. Okolie being a world champion is absolutely HORRENDOUS. He's a total bum and fraud. I will def puke if he wins tomorrow.

I could be wrong of course but everything is telling me that Okolie is going to KO Glowacki tomorrow night.

Glowacki is giving away 7.5'' in reach and 5'' in height
He hasn't fought in 21 months and only once in 2.5 years
    He turns 35 in June
He's essentially coming off an early KO loss (Briedis would've KO'd him even without the elbow)
    He had covid
The fight is in the UK
Okolie is massive for the weight with freakish dimensions, the most awkward style you can imagine, and has improved under McGuigan and can really punch and is good at catching you when you come lunging in which is what Glowacki will and will have to do to land his shots

And Glowacki is small for the weight. He weighed 202lbs in the ring for Cunningham and he's come in over 4lbs below the limit whereas Okolie came in just under it and he will have rehydrated a lot of weight and will be a lot heavier than Glowacki, at least 16lbs IMO and maybe even more.

 I hope you don't change your pick to Glowacki

Even though he's the better more experienced fighter and Okolie has never fought anyone close to his level I have a strong gut feeling he's getting KO'd but sometimes my gut feeling is wrong lol
