Looks like Roman "Made in Hell" Karmazin, one of the best junior middleweights around, will be back to the ring as soon as January 19 on the Roy Jones-Felix Trinidad undercard at Madison Square Garden. Karmazin (36-2-1, 23 KOs) will defend his WBA intercontinental title against Bunema (28-5-2, 14 KOs), who has recently returned into business after two years of hiatus. The pace is unusually fast for the former IBF titleholder. He is ranked WBA #2, IBF #4, WBC #5, and WBO #6 after a convincing victory over ex-champion Alejandro Garcia in an official WBA eliminator a month ago. Bunema will be no gimmee for Roman, with wins over such notables as Tony Marshall, Vince Phillips, and JC Candelo. Should Karmazin be successful on Jan. 19, he is expected to land a title fight later in the year.
he is staying active, and thats exactly what he needs to do I hope he lands a title shot in 2008 against Alcine
It's good to see that Don King is giving Karmazin another match so fast. I hope the Spinks rematch gets made and I think he will win this time. He would also beat Joachim Alcine. Vernon Forrest would be a very tough fight for him or anybody else at 154. He should be able to knock out Bunema pretty early very easily.
Bunema may be a big surprise. He seems highly motivated since his return, is in excellent shape, and has always been very dangerous. I think this will be a fight to write home about. At any rate, it won't be a cake walk for Karmazin.
Yes.. Bunema seems very motivated... I recently seen him fight... he showed incredible power... you could have counted to 50 before his opponent woke up & his people said he had a 2 year lay off & the old Bunema is back.. We will see ?
