There is a "technical" side to enjoy in MMA - it's more to do with positional control, application & escape of submissions, etc.

To me it's just down to boxing being the far better sport, on the technical end or the brutal. (and yes, that's highly subjective)

Weimer is starting to administer a literal ass-kicking now. Hwrienecki is backed up around the ring, barely getting a strike in edgewise. Weimer bombs away with both fists to get Hwrienecki covering up, and then kicks him in the body. HARD right foot flies upward and puts Hwrienecki down to a knee. He sucks wind for a moment to recover from all those body shots that led up to the KD shot and beats the count, and only has to spoil for ten seconds to survive the round.

BTW, in kickboxing rounds 4 & 5 are the "championship rounds" - analogous to the 11th and 12th in modern boxing. (13th through 15th in days of yore).

Regular kickboxing matches are a uniform three rounds long, whether it's debutants or top contenders. (so there's no scaling system as in boxing, where it graduates from 4 rounders to 6 and 8 and finally 10 as the last stop before championships)

Hwrienecki ain't going out like that! He's coming forward, lunging with high jabs, kicking Weimer in the rear part of the thigh, being the aggressor. Hooks to the body by Hwrienecki. OHHHH, BIG SHOT BY WEIMER DROPS HIM HARD!! Big counter right. Hwrienecki's nose exploded. He beats the count at eight. Hwrienecki KEEPS COMING! Balls of steel, chin of glass. Hwrienecki pecks away at the bell as Weimer defends easily.

This shouldn't be at all close on the cards, so the knockdowns shouldn't even matter as far as the scoring goes.

I may have been generous to even give Hwrienecki that first round on activity.
