Not sure if there's been a thread on him winning the IBF European title yet. Apologies if there has already been one. Just saw the fight. Fair play to him, landed some great uppercuts. Not sure how good his opponent actually was. Not sure how decent the belt is. But I guess it's a step in the right direction for Kash Ali. Didn't think he'd get a second chance after the biting incident with Price.
I haven't seen the fight yet and agree, congratulations to him, but... I really dislike the ABC organisations muscling in with their IBF or WBO European belts. There's a longstanding EBU title that is for me the real European champion and anything that dilutes that title is bad for boxing.
Before I saw this thread had no idea there were alphabet Euro belts and you're right there is only one legit Euro title
Until Ali fights someone half decent and doesn’t get disqualified it’s hard to say what level he is at. That said, I doubt he even gets to British Title level despite the fact he’s still only 29.
he will never even get to European level, shoot him up with what ever you like he won’t get beyond domestic level let alone European.
He's not too bad tbf. He ain't ever going to be up there in the top 10 but he seems to be giving it his all now and his taking his "second chance" far more serious. He's now moved to Rotherham and trains under Richard Towers. Kashs commitment to training, and responsibility towards his management team are solid. And he seems to be making all the right moves now. Hobsons supporting hand is been repaid in loyalty and hard graft from kash and I defo see him picking up a British. Towers is a decent enough trainer and he also has a good understanding of boxing and esp heavyweights. Back to the price fight. Not sure why Kash bit Price cos the tide was definatly turning and I reckon hed of got a win that night if hed of given it a couple more rounds. Hobson will do his best for All and as long as Ali stays commited, dedicated and keeps a good relationship with Towers I reckon he's got a good future. He's not going to be up there with the top ones but he will carve a solid career out for himself imo. Good luck to him.
Richard Towers is a decent coach and man and you can see Kash has improved as a fighter. I think Kash could possibly get a British title, but it would depend on being in the right place at the right time...and facing the right opponent. The truth is that current crop of prospects has already gone beyond British level now, so there is an opening there in the next 6-12 months for him to win it.
Is Richard Towers a decent coach and man? Isn't he a close friend of Deontay Wilder, too? That alone raises suspicions. Anybody who can be close to an absolute ignoramus like Wilder must surely be cut from the same cloth. Admittedly, I don't know much about Towers except the stuff regarding his past and some of his bouts. I've not seen a more stiff boxer in my life. I just remember the contrast between his appearance and his actual ability. I've not seen a bigger contrast.
Watch the “boxing life stories” podcast and the episode with Richard Towers. You will find out that why he accumulated the losses he did- he was a lot better than what he showed in the ring. He is friends with a lot of HW boxers and I don’t go down the road of guilty by association. Wilder is an ignoramus but that doesn’t mean everyone associated with him is.
