I looked for it online but couldn't find it.

Ouma looked promising after dominating Jantuah in an all-African showdown . I think Ouma threw like 1000 punches in that fight. I think he was managed poorly. They had him fluctuating in weight between 47, 54, and 60 instead of being patient and letting him clean up the division. Because in that event, with his belts and GBP's money, they could have easily set up a scenario where a big name welter would move up in weight for his belts.

But no. While he never moved down to 47 in an actual fight, they had him thinking about it so much it messed with his training regimen. Then, they had him fight his mandatory Roman Karmazin instead of paying him and King step-aside money (believe me, King loves to take that) so he could pursue unification and make himself even more marketable. Bad move. Karmazin was a tough out and won a decision on HBO Latino (remember that channel?).

So now Ouma had to pick up the pieces, which he did by picking up good wins over Marco Antonio Rubio and Sechew Powell, who was undefeated. So you would think he would be ready for a return title bout at 54 right? WRONG.

GBP didn't look out for Ouma. They saw the dollar signs in matching him up with a much bigger middleweight in Taylor (Ouma was already a small volume puncher for 154). And so Ouma took the six pounds, the paycheck, and the loss. While he showed he wasn't scared by standing in front of him, that fight took a lot out of him physically. And sadly, it was the beginning of the end. GBP ordered him back to 154, but by then, the damage had been done.

No man that steps in the ring should ever be called a bum. Sure, you could classify Ouma as a fighter who never reached his potential. A disappointment even. But a bum? I highly doubt that.
