Was anyone else a fan of this guy? I watched him in my teenage years, but as crazy as it seems, he's basically eligible for discussion on the classic forum, sort of like how Three Doors Down/Nirvana/Pearl Jam are eligible for rotation of Classic Rock stations. For me there was a lot to like about Ouma: he was a brilliant combination puncher, a guy who understood how each shot set up the next. Unlike a typically volume puncher, who would fight like a windmill, just hoping a few punches would land, Ouma seemed to pick his shots deliberately even while melting the compubox. He was also accurate, which meant that even though he didn't hit particularly hard, he could wear durable fighters down and score finishes. On the downside: he smoked a lot of herb, which seemed to affect his cardio, which a problem when your success involves throwing 125 punches a round. Also: defense. He had a lot of fights where he soaked up a ton of damage. He scored some good wins: Verno Philips (X2), Jason Papillion, Angel Hernandez, JC Candelo (that was a big one at the time), Sechew Powell, Kofi Jantuah, & Marco Antonio Rubio. Unfortunately he blew a big fight with Roman Karmazin, and after that his performances seemed to trail off, espcially after the ill-advised fight with Jermain Taylor.
He was a pretty good fighter and fun to watch. He beat Verno Phillips twice back when that really meant something. He seemed like he was never the same after that loss to Karmazin.
