On Ward-Kovalev "It's for them to get in the ring and fight at some point next year," she said. It will be on PPV "Absolutely,"said Duva on Saturday morning,"you got the two best fighters in the world facing each other. Two of the best pound-for-pound fighters, top five, top three on some people's list. When you have the best, you can sell that.Yeah, that's sellable and that's a great event." Might take place in Las Vegas or NY at MSG. Here's the article. *= boxing scene http://www.***********.com/kovalevs-promoter-confirms-andre-ward-deal-2016--98419
but but but we want to see Ward go up against the Tureano Johnsons, and Willie Monroe's of the world for the rest of his carreer. Don't fight a couple tune ups than Kovalev, fight Pascal, Brahemer, Cleverly etc for the rest of your career, even though those fights are pointless and we know the outcome.
the ggg loving alt comes to attack Ward . at least ward is fighting Kovalev, 2 years from now who will be the best win on GGG's resume .
No chance, the fight will happen in Oakland at a catchweight of 171 with ward getting 99% of any money. :deal
Don't have a problem with Triple G fighting those guys in stay busy fights. What's bothered people with Ward is he hasn't fought anyone significant since Dawson, has been largely inactive and fighting someone like Paul Smith doesn't do it for anyone.
Maybe he fought Smith because he was coming off a long lay off , Smith is really no different than Curtis Stevens, Willie Monroe etc. What's bothered people is GGG has been fighting stay busy fights his whole career, and not even one guy close to elite.
Nope that's wrong. Per Steve Kim "There is an agreement in the contract that Oakland (Ward's hometown) and Russia (Kovalev's home country) are ruled out as potential fight locations."
The talent difference was enormous. Both Stevens and Monroe were ranked in the top 10 and were willing to fight Triple G. I personally didn't have a problem with him fighting Paul Smith because he was inactive for a long period of time and said he would be fighting a tuneup when he returned.
Monroe was ranked in the top 10? LOL wtf, in what world. I dont remember about Stevens but I went to boxrec and checked what he did before he fought GGG, if he was really a top 10 that really shows how pathetic 160 is.
That Stevens and Monroe were ranked in the top 10 says a lot about Golovkin's middleweight division. Neither guy would be a top 10 guy in the 90s.
Monroe wasn't ranked top 10, I think he rankd like somewhere in between 15-25, not sure about Stevens.
