:nod I'm slowly but surely becoming a believer in NBC Sports and Fox Sports 1 possibly shaking things up and bringing in a new era of important televised boxing that isn't semi-monopolized or restricted to a "Big Two". :bbb

Nope. Adamek-Jennings will only happen on HBO and Duva said they are interested so far.

    Why only HBO?

Both of them have been competing on NBC for some time. Would the combined price tag simply be over their budget?

Exactly. Both likely see this as a fight with significant risk, both are pretty well known, so they want to be paid accordingly.

Yeah but why sacrifice a good long-term deal with plenty of time and effort invested already by the boxers themselves and NBC (both are emerging as flagship stars on the network) for a short-term boost?

I would imagine they would both agree to make a bit less but keep 'building their brand' where they are. Even the loser will probably return for several more paydays, so it actually doesn't make sense to cash out shortsightedly.

Yeah, I see your point . . . a loss on NBC would not be as bad as one on HBO. I guess the money is just too tempting for both fighters, however. But you are right . . . Barring a real beating and a KO, a respectable loss should not hurt them on NBC . . .

I guess Jennings or Adamek would have to take a gamble, so I do not see that fight happening on NBC (hopefully, I am wrong). I would not be surprised if Adamek takes the Chisora-Boytsov winner (he gets preference, obviously, with his name and his being Polish). If that happens, who would Jennings fight? . . . Manuel Charr? (IF Jennings would gamble on traveling to Englnd.)

Smart move by Jennings, he avoided Pulev to fight the fading Adamek. Adamek is a good test and this fight will show the potential of Jennings. If he scores a KO it would be huge for him.

I haven't seen enough of him though so I am not making any predictions.

:nod ...and unlike Pulev, Adamek has a name built up in Jennings' native land.

    This made excellent business sense.
