No more or less than I'd want to see my father, son or brother take punches to the face. As long as they're competent boxers fighting at their level it wouldn't bother me in the slightest. Provided the bird was sexy and pulling in a few quid, of course. Really don't understand the point you're making.

I'm not saying "go girls". I'm saying Katie Taylor is a top boxer and she is entertaining to watch in the ring. There's really nothing else to it.

Your dramatic post just looks silly.

If she was a professional boxer, then yes I would like to see them box. Why is it different for men, than for women?

I get the idea that you hate women, and your argument it very poorly disguised as some misplaced feminism, pretending you are looking out for female wellbeing, when in fact it is just making you look like a virgin loser.

Why do we have to play these games these days? Is everyone that afraid of just telling it like it? If you want to watch women's sports then fine, that is up to you. But the reality is that elite women's sports aren't even intermediate school boy level when you compare them to males, which is why most people don't want to watch them. And what makes it worse with boxing or MMA is that they put it on along side the men, which is just short changing the fans.

Katie Taylor isn't even that good anyway, certainly not when you compare her to men. It's just that compared to the waitresses and single mothers she's fighting she is super fit, very fast and overwhelms them by bouncing up and down like a gazelle and spamming the same combinations over and over again. A journeyman like Adam Jones is 100 time more skilled, polished, technically proficient and athletic than she is.

And apart form all that, it's just not normal for a grown man to want to watch women fight. There's something seriously off about blokes who do imo.

They're not fighting. They're competing in a boxing match with rules and regulations. Personally only watch Taylor but I thoroughly enjoy doing so. Nothing seriously off about it. She's an icon in Ireland, where I'm from. I've followed her through the amateurs and into the pros. I don't care how she compares to men, she's an extremely skilled individual in her own right and competes in entertaining fights. She'll fight any one anywhere which can't be said for 99% of boxers out there. The woman deserves nothing but respect!

I worry for the lads in this thread that clearly hate women due to their history of rejection

Why is it anytime a man criticises a woman, it must mean he hates all women or he’s a virgin. I don’t get it. How does not liking women’s sport or women’s boxing constitute to hating women ?

When a woman criticises a man do you ever hear anyone saying she must hate men or she’s not been getting any D ?

This exact conversation is why people are put off women’s sport. It turns political.

I don’t necessary agree with all of this. Rhonda Rousey was a big draw in the US and women’s WWE seems to be doing well over their. It’s just the propoganda that comes with women’s sport that leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

For example Adam Smith’s interview today, heard him say “we’re here for women’s boxing” “katie taylor is going to become a global star” “katie taylor is a brilliant addition to boxing, not just women’s boxing”

I mean really Adam ? She’s on the undercard of a man the vast majority of
the boxing fans haven’t even heard of and apparently if their is no different between men’s and women’s boxing, why not put her in with a man ?

And also heard him rattling on about what sports rights Sky has. Adam knows and we all know, no-one subscribes to Sky Sports to watch bloody women’s sport never mind katie taylor. Be realistic Adam and be honest about the PC rubbish that comes out your mouth

Comparing ‘Adam Jones’ to any women is like comparing a heavyweight with a flyweight. They fight at their own weight and against the same sex so what’s the problem? It’s a sport - do you have a problem with women’s rugby ... football ... horse racing? Or maybe they d be better off staying at home looking after the dishwasher ?

What’s wrong with being PC? The opposite is generally associated with bigotry ... racism ... and a whole load of other prejudices, designed to protect a certain culture or view point. On average there is probably one female bout every 3-4 televised cards. What are you scared of?

Fighting at odds of 1/20 or less in all your fights is not going to attract people to watch you.
