What has that got to do with women’s boxing? Or men’s boxing? We have different weight categories paired with the sex of the boxer - scaremongering about trans boxers taking over the whole card and beating the crap out of women? Think you need to keep your imagination in check! ... having said that, what about a fight between AJ and a kangaroo - as long as it was a male kangaroo of course?
Unfortunately people always resort to men beat women scenario as they truly cannot handle the thought that a woman can step through the ropes when they are still standing on the apron looking in wishing they had the bollocks to have a go
Where did I say anything about trans boxers? Where did I say anything about trans boxers taking over the whole card? You see my previous post about my thoughts on women’s boxing but chose to quote the other post on sport in general, and then try to strawman the **** out of it. Why don’t you respond to my actual comments about women’s boxing, rather than doing a strawman on the other post? More emotional thinking than logical thinking. Try and be a man about this and respond to my actual post about women’s boxing.
You are really in for a rough time gyms up and down the country are full of females all learning the art of boxing
I used to be against woman boxing but that view has disappeared long ago. I would say the depth isnt great though same can be said for a lot of lower classes in men's boxing. I love to see Katie Taylor fight as she is so skilful and loves a fight. Very remenessant in style to Joe Calzaghe.
‘Be a man about it & respond’? What if I was a female boxing fan? Wouldn’t I be allowed to? Looking at your original post, I respect your point of view re: bit of a generalisation, but you don’t like women’s boxing. There might be the odd fight I like at the lower weights, but generally I prefer lightweight and above, so i get that. But what you seem to be saying is - women shouldn’t box. Watching KT last night, that’s an advert for saying they should. She obviously has passion for her sport - as much as any man. & if it was your daughter, showing that much talent and dedication in the ring - im sure you would feel pretty dam proud. On a secondary note - seeing as they hit a lot harder, I’d be more worried having a son who boxed than a daughter.
Gotta agree with you.. I absolutely hate seeing a woman bloodied bruised and out classed, which is mostly what I see IF I some how watch it. I just haven't moved a long with it like everyone else I suppose, I find it heart breaking with what I just mentioned. Katie Taylor has skills, I know that, but it still don't interest me
Yeah, but I still wouldn't want to watch my daughter go from a pretty young girl in to a cauliflower eared flat nose and heavy eyebrows from taking digs over the years. If it made her happy i'd show backing and support, but I be far happier with something else non combat
You can't be serious, it wasn't even competitive. Will to win?? How much does will come into it when you are 10x better than your opponent. I couldn't wait for it to be over.
i am not a fan of women boxing because i don't see that many good fights. I find most fights are mismatches and they hurt each other that much. SAying that thou, i have enjoyed a couple of fights but they have been undercard fights with two mexican women.
Exactly....If you would rather watch a poorer standard boxer than KT Taylor just because its a man then it says a lot about how insecure someone is about themselves... She is an absolute Hero in Ireland ,brought back loads of medals and belts yet we still have people thinking she is **** because Lomachenko would beat her....Muppets
I'm deadly serious. It was enjoyable seeing one undefeated champion dismantle another world champion. Most of Floyd Mayweather's fights weren't competetive but I enjoyed watching him box. Will to win comes into it a lot when she boxes out of her skin to entertain the fans and force a stoppage. She could box at range all night and win easy points decisions. She chooses to do a lot more than that. You little boys really need to get over yourselves.
Little boy mate, don't get f*cking chopsy on a Internet forum. It's childish to start getting mouthy and being disrespectful online like you are! I'm f*cking fuming now truth be told. Truth is you are bias because you're Irish, and the Irish seem to back their own blindly. The other 'world champion' had the boxing ability of a low-level f*cking journeyman, so call it like it is. It was a complete mismatch, as was every other pro fight Taylor has been involved in. I like Taylor, seems a nice girl and is a good boxer, but her fights are boring to watch because nobody else is close to her level. That's the truth of it.
Calm yourself down ffs. Your reaction is childish! The comment was made towards the general negativity regarding womens boxing in the thread, much of it sexist or insecure behavior. The other world champion was a legitimate world champion. Katie is possibly the greatest female boxer of all time. The greats generally mill through the competition. Look at Lomachenko. If you don't enjoy watching Katie fight, that's your opinion. It's certainly not "the truth of it". Some people simply enjoy watching greatness. It appears I'm not the only one. I'm guessing the rest aren't Irish.
