    I had only seen a few of Serrano's fights against overmatched opposition beforehand and didn't realize how poor her defense was until the Taylor fight. She was touched just about every time Taylor threw more than one punch. Her defense against the left hook was especially porous.

    It was the fight of the century...for woman's boxing. First time a womens bout headlined a Madison Square Garden
    card. It was an important, historical bout, not for the actual fight (which was fantastic IMO) but for the sport itself.

    Posters saying both fighters weren't very good need to watch the other women's fight on the card. Neither of them (the Swedish
    and the African-american) had much skill at all, just rock em, sock em. Whereas both Taylor and Serrano showed lost of skills
    in types of punches (all of them), footwork, mastery of distance, etc. Two very well trained pro boxers. PLUS incredible heart and
    courage.

    I watched the other fight and it was terrible. It was for undisputed at 168 skill level was atrocious. The broadcast team were acting like it was some massive achievement and comparable to the men's bracket to win all the belts in a division where there are only 23 registered female pros and only 2 of the ones ranked in the top 10 have in excess of 10 fights and the 8th ranked one is 9-10. I give credit where credit is due but I'm not prepared to play along with this silly little game where we live in a fake PC reality where we have to pretend our eyes are not seeing what they see.

    Taylor and Serrano can fight. So can Shields, Marshall, Estrada, Jonas, Cameron, Baumgardener and a bunch of others and Taylor vs Serrano was a really good fight. Women's fight of the century, OK fine. But in no way shape or form was it the fight of the century. It wasn't even fight of this year. I'll give you credit if you can fight. Likewise, if you put on a good or great fight I'll give you credit for doing so too but only in relation to what you deserve. That's called equality.
