Taylor isn't And never has been that good. THink it was the newage boxing podcast ages ago that said that when was winning everything in the amateurs there was basically no half average female boxers and any decent sports women where in other sports. Once boxing started attracting better sports women taylor won nothing so then turn pro.
Absolute disgrace Person dominated and should have won the fight. I had £5 on Persoon and was set to win over £140. Matchroom robbing boxing fans hard earned with no shame whatever.
Relax folks. Firstly it was a fantastic fight for the fans...a real war. Both girls showed more guts and heart than most men... certainly more than multi million superstar did AJ in the main event. The verdict was fair. Katie won. Lovely girl Katie, very classy always. Rematch in Dublin anyone?
Frampton, for one, on BBC 5Live, called the result as being wrong. Not seen the fight (was asleep and missed everything visually live last night bar Rds2, 3 and 4 of AJ / Ruiz, relied on BBC commentary after) but it seems the fight was close, swaying maybe to the Belgian lass.
Agree with this. Lost a bit of respect for her last night after gaining an awful lot prior to the interview in that great scrap. She lost that fight, there’s no shame in that but show a bit more class. The other girl was absolutely terrible but had unbelievable heart and demonstrated the right tactics. If she’d have tried to box her she would have been soundly beaten.
Maybe Carl is sore cos he himself got outworked by a similar super fit swarming brawler! Seriously though I think people are overlooking Katie here. She repeatedly made persoon look crude and miss wildly, often causing her to stumble past her like a drunk dr a bar fight after missing wildly. People forget that. This is boxing, the game of hit and not get hit. Persoon missed wildly an awful lot. Her badly marked face told the story that Katie's punches weren't missing. I do think however that Katie may have not been 100% fit or healthy in there. She was off form after just 2 rounds, and that should not happen if you're fully right.
Katie won, verdict was fair? Next you'll be telling us N'Dam got robbed against the plank. Have a day off Len!
Relax kojak. I posted earlier that I was very impressed with Smith's performance.now I'm just asking people to give Katie credit. Incredibly tough fight, both girls were heroic. In any case Katie being the classy sporting champion that she is will likely give Delfine a rematch. Taking nothing away from the Belgian but Katie's performance deteriorated after a couple of rounds, which should not happen if she was 100% right. I wouldn't be surprised if Katie was sick or something in there.
She looked gassed very quickly last night - not sure whether this was the constant pressure or something else.
