Earl cannot believe he has a chance in this, but it would be watcheable and marketeable for sure...so why not. It depends on Katsidis and his own options going forward.
first fight was a ******* but i see earl taking to much punishment for too little in return this time round
Graham Earl: Official Statement on Michael Katsidis rematch Earlier today the internet was buzzing with the news that Earl-Katsidis II is possibly on the cards. The news broke after Michael Katsidis posted on his official website a statement regarding an e.mail to Michael's manager Brendon Smith from Graham Earl, challenging Michael to a rematch of their 2007 Battle Royale. With the approach now very much out in the public domain Graham today issued the following statement. Ever since our last fight together I was promised a rematch and the chance to get my revenge. Obviously, I understand that there were obligations from that fight and he had the opportunities to move on. He got the win that night. He put me down a few times then I put him down. We were having a war in the fourth and fifth and I believe I won those two rounds and the fight was in the balance at that stage. If the fight had continued I believe I would have won. graham earl is already punch drunk and should stay retired. there was signs of him starting to fade when ricky burns outpointed him over 8 round and he kept repeating after the fight 'he did well and won the title' this really shouldn't be allowed to happen
Saw a video on the tube a while back when Earl met kats before Mitchell fight and Earl hinted he'd love to fight Kats again and so did Kats
I bow to no-one in my tightfistedness but if Graham is thinking of taking this fight because he needs the money I'd be right up there in the queue to help pay him not to. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3bNNZaa4h_Q[/ame]
Bad news, earl seems to slur his speech quite badly and seems punch drunk to me. On a side note, he has a very unusual physique: his arms are very short and seem out of proportion to his body
Its either he needs money or is a just *******s or both. He wont last a ****ing round unless Kat fancies carrying him for a few rounds. Earl is finished last time he fought was 2 years ago against Karl Taylor, i mean look at he fights prior to that. Bennett, Khan. ****, please don't let this fight happen, he will end up brain dead. Just LET IT GO EARL.
Katsidis the great Promotions in association with Smithy’s Gym are proud to announce, that the Fight of the Year rematch between two time world champion Michael Katsidis and former world champion Graham Earl has been verbally agreed to. At 2am this morning Katsidis Manager Brendon Smith finalized details with Graham Earl’s camp to have a fight downunder. Graham Earl and his team have been chasing the Katsidis’ camp for close to 4 years now on the promise of a rematch after their epic five round World title battle at Wembley Arena in London in 2007. In a fight that was full of action, Katsidis not only came out the victor, but this battle was awarded the coveted round and fight of the year, most critics also deemed it to be the fight of the decade. “Earl has been chasing this since we walked out of the ring 4 years ago” Katsidis’s manager Brendon Smith today said “he has shown up at press conferences, and even tried to enter our training camp in Thailand in the lead up to the Juan Manuel Marquez title fight to issue a challenge... we did promise him the rematch, and now his wish has been granted and what an amazing fight it will be for Australia.” When Katsidis was asked what he thought of the fight being confirmed, he responded with “Graham is one tough man, it will definitely be a war, and I love a war... when we met in ‘07’ we exchanged a lot of punches, he went down, I went down, It will be on again, I will have to be in my best shape for this battle. From the day we embraced each other and agreed for a rematch, he has chased me and now I will honour my commitment to Graham Earl, and give him the rematch he has been seeking”
