Every fighter and their teams plans career moves. Kats is the kind of fighter who takes on big challenges and risks to get recognition.

I'm for it . . . if he loses now, this early, there's nothing much to regret, he can still get a lot of shots at the belts and title in the future. What's imporatant is . . . he is getting the exposure he is seeking.

if he beats diaz, he would be the new lightweight king. if he lose, he gains a big fight experience. and besides, he is not very young anymore.

i really think it is too soon. a jump from barely surviving amonsot to fighting the unified champ too much to ask from katsidis IMO. this would have been a great fight two years from now.

    **** that, mistake my arse.

It's a fight boxing fans will absolutely love.
Katsidis is taking an 80-20 split, on the basis this fight could propel his career, win or lose.
EVERYONE whinges about guys not wanting to fight other guys, and ducking. And a guy that fights balls out every time, is doing everything in his power to make a potentially great fight.

    And people DON'T want that?

I love watching Katsidis fight. Honestly, after those performances against Earl and Amonzot, who the hell wouldnt be....but he is in way over his head.

Katisidis has zero defense and cuts WAY too easily.

Diaz, is not only one of the top 10-15 fighters in the game right now, he is also a very high output, high accuracy puncher.

This fight will be fun while it lasts, but I say it gets stopped on cuts around the 5th with Baby Bull up handily.

Again, it will be a crowd pleaser tho.

I dont think he was talking about if its a mistake as in, should he have taken it being so dangerous...but rather, is it a fight he can win.

I say, he has little to no chance of pulling it off....but I give him all the credit in the world for attempting it.

Plus, its gonna be ONE HELL OF A FIGHT while it lasts.

That's was just flash in the pan shot while Katsidis was pounding the crap out of Earl!!

Never seen such a one sided beating as that fight in a professional bout!!

Katsidis vs Diaz, different matter. Katsidis needs to find some defense in a hurry if he's going to beat Diaz. I can't see him brawling his way to a victory. He'll get stopped mid rounds unless he shows better evasion than he did against Amonsot.

You can never count Katsidis out because of his stength, toughness, heart, and punching power. But he is in over his head against Juan Diaz. I give him a lot of credit for taking this fight, but Diaz's own strength, higher punch output, better defense, better technical skills, and superior accuracy should cut Katsidis up and get him a mid/late round TKO.

    Barely surviving Amonsot?

    :patsch:patsch

Katsidis got cut up by Amonsot (and this is for all those people who seem to think he cuts easily .. I've seen a lot of his fights and he's never cut up like that before so you can't say he will again) but that's all. He was never in any danger of being stopped except from the cut and pounded Amonsot badly the whole fight.

good he's stepping up just cuz you lose doesn't mean your ruined too much is read into an undeafted record. sometimes fighters need to lose to be great some of the greatest fighters in the world have lost only a select few havent just LOOK at the ATG list and GOAT arguments how many stayed undefeated ?

But I have noticed in Diaz's last few fights that he tends to be very predictable imo. He will go 15-20 seconds without throwing a punch and then unload 20 at once, then nothing for a 15 second lapse or so and then a flurry of punches again, etc etc. Katsidis could take advantage of this.....but im going to be honest and admit I have only seen 2 of baby bulls fights. Is this always his tendency? When I have seen him it really seems like hes not much of the boxing style at all, and he just throws flurries of combos when his energy is back from the last time.....comments anyone?
