Front runners for Khans 'stay busy' July 31st fight are: Joel Casamayor and Katsidis.

    Katsidis Advisor:
"I have been approached by [Golden Boy CEO] Richard Schaefer [about Khan]. Right now we are still focused on fighting the winner of Juan Manuel Marquez vs. Juan Diaz [on July 31]. But, a fight with Khan is possible if a substantial reward, deserving of a fighter like Katsidis, is involved. But I want to advise them, this reward will come with a heavy price because Khan will end up in the same fashion as Mitchell. Nobody will draw more people against Khan in England, and Europe, than Michael Katsidis. Michael is undefeated against British fighters and Khan's name will be added on the list next to Mitchell and [Graham] Earl"

    BEFORE you critisize:

    Maidana is injured.
He's taller than Alexander and Bradley. (Both people have got fights)
    Is a BIG LW.
    Is a live dog.

While Kahn is clearly a... fructuous fight for Katsidis, I think he's better off fighting the winner of JMM vs Juan Diaz. It's better to finish business in a division, than go for possibly the best man at a higher division.

He can do that afterwards. Katsidis can beat Kahn by stoppage, but thing is, Roach would definitely instruct Kahn to play it safe and I can't for the life of me, see Katsidis winning a decision in England.

Agreed. I'd much rather see Katsidis/Marquez than him taking on Khan.

You might want to also add to that list....Katsidis has fought at 140 a few times in the past. So it's by no means an alien weight class for him, as he's certainly familiar with it.

Over on the scene I read that Schaefer is looking to include this fight in the PPV package of JMM vs Diaz, with the winner of the respective bouts squaring off with each other possibly early 2011. How great would that be! A warm up tournament, for the main tournament! It will also provide plenty of time for Maidana, Alexander, and Bradley to rack up a few more wins and enhance their own profile. So by mid 2011, we'll have a much anticipated and mouth drooling Light-Welterweight tournament! :happy

Can really see this happening, Katsidis would draw big numbers in the UK and would have a large number of the crowd on his side.

Just wondering Katsidis was to take the fight against Khan at LWW would he be stripped of his interim LW title?

I don't think Freddie fancies a fight with Katsidis right now.

why would you criticise? i think this is a serious fight, katsidis is not the same animal of 2007-2008 and he will go up to 140 easy.

its a serious test for khan and if he could handle katsidis id be much much more impressed than his win over mallinaggi. katsidis would have the ability to stop khan with 1 or 2 solid flurries so khan would need to be on the top of his game
