Katsidis as compared to Mundine

    In just 2 international fights Katsidis has already gained more credibility internationally then Anthony Mundine. He is not only more well known but is more well liked, with very big wraps coming from Jim Lampley, Larry Merchant and Emanuel Steward as well as Golden Boy Promotions. But lets look further into this. Surely there must be some reason behind this? I mean Anthony Mundine is "the man". Shouldn't that in itself mean he is the more popular fighter. What are your thoughts?

    IMO its because Katsidis is more exciting to watch, more humble, more willing to take tough fights, and more willing to fight overseas. This gets a lot of respect from fight fans. Burning the Union Jack pretty much does the exact opposite.

    P4P i think Mundines is just in front atm but could change soon. But world wide like i said before "Whos Mundine" Oh MSTR you are baiting these nuthugger like a expert fisherman :good

    hahaha.... shhhhh. Quiet. World wide people think Mundine is a peice of sh*t. I actually think internationally he deserves more credit then he gets, but I would say that Katsidis is definitely the more well known fighter at the moment, as the Earl fight in th UK and the recent PPV undercard fight in the US both gave him mainstream exposure to both markets.

    You wonder why they never put him on a US card? Even on the undercard, you think he would benefit from the increased exposure? I guess probably the main reason is that the US is relatively weak in the SMW division.

    Still they could have matched him with a Allan Green, Rubin Williams, Peter Manfredo etc.
    All pretty safe bets for Mundine IMO.:deal

    No risk, no reward i guess.:yep

    Good point. Manfredo would have been a great fight for him to showcase his skills.

    you know the real good thing about Rocky though.

    in his last 2 fights he has given us fans Katsidis vs Earl and Katsidis vs Amonsot within 6months of each other. Both fights are in the top 5 for fights of the year candidates.

    He is and we know why going to be very much liked especially when there are so many dud fights being made. and Katsidis gives you 2 rippers within a years.

    MSTR needs to be told that WIZKID isnt talking to him. Sort of looks like he wishes it meant something to WIZKID, but because it doesnt it seems like it means more to MSTR. I dont know I just feel a little embarrased for him.

    Reason Mundine won’t fight overseas and this is truly what I believe is that he is being carried. When you look at it besides Ottke who he took on in Germany he never wants to leave Oz to fight. Kessler which was a hard fight was here, Siaca here, Green of course was here.


    Besides those names I just listed who has really tested Mundine? Ottke who I always thought was a coward and a chump who got gift calls and NEVER fought outside of his home WHICH IS WHY HE NEVER made a name for himself.


    Mundine needs to take the risk and call out Taylor and fight him in the USA or even Miranda someone along those lines who can test him and push him.
