Maidana to beat Khan.

Maidana needs a lucky KO. Big IF.

Katsidis to beat Marquez,

I would go with this. Marquez is falling fast and possibilty of an upset is possible. Katsidis anint going to KO him, hes going have to get him on points. Katsidis is prone to KO with his style...

and Dirrell to beat Ward.

Ward is the US golden boy Dirrell must beat him bad to take this win. I got a feeling that this is heading for a draw. Why ? Both keep their titles, and both keep their hype status. Ala Hollyfield vs Lewis.

Katsidis beating JMM isn't that ridiculous.

Everyone keeps referencing the two fighters Kats lost to and JMM beat, but consider:
1. JMM is 37 with the general consensus that he is past his best. JMM has moved up and down in weight, and was hardly impressive against J Diaz II (and this was Diaz fighting defensively!).
2. Kats was very unlucky to lose to J Diaz by SD with many people thinking he had actually won.
3. Kats was beating Casamayor up pretty bad until he got sloppy, lost concentration and walked into some big shots.
4. Kats is in his prime. He's learnt from his mistakes and has tightend his defense. J Diaz and Kats do have similar styles however Kats hits alot harder and will try to smother JMM rather than try and outbox him on the inside.
5. Kats has improved since his loses and is on a 4 fight winning steak - 2 of which are highly rated lightweights (Escobedo and Mitchell).
5. Kats fights extremely well in front of hostile crowds. A pro-Mexican crowd will not faze him.

 

Is Khan the betting favourite then?

 

Probably based on their last bouts...but Khan was more than likely going to be the betting favourite even if Maidana KO'd Corley. Good look with the bet anyway. :good

 

I'm not a betting man, but this is boxing, and the above results could easily happen.

Khan/Maidana - Betting on Maidana to shatter that chin, is not the most ridiculous thing to do. I have a sneaky feeling that Maidana might end the night early. That in my opinion is his best chance. The longer the fight goes on, the more slower and sloppy he gets. Dangerous state to be in against a strong, better conditioned, and quicker fighter.

Marquez/Katsidis - Again, picking Katsidis to win is not a bad shout. Lately I've warmed to the Australian, and have given him a little more credit as a boxer. With his aggression and power, he may just be too much for the ageing Marquez.

Dirrell/Ward - This is my only concern for you, dude. I rate Ward very highly, and I think he'll get the nod against Dirrell.

I would wish you the best of luck, but unfortunately I'm rooting for all the guys you need to lose. So yeah, I hope your bet goes tits up :good

 

I dont think its a bad bet..dont get me wrong.
But taking on the house 3 times before we even saw the weigh in. Boxers shape or condition is a little premature.
Just saying, I got a feeling that dirrell vs Ward is heading for a draw AT THIS STAGE. My mistake on the title though. Is ward going to try his best against his buddy when hes already guaranteed a way through? But he will defend that tittle that he got of Kessler?
