Katsidis fight update- not on hold just yet

I hope the fight is still going on as planned mate.
We all have a Katsidis appreciation thread on the Brit forum at the moment.
Any word from Katsidis on the situation? I'm reading he hasn't broke training for the funeral. Is this confirmed?

I just don't understand this at all....is he not going home to be with the family for the week :huh

He must be at least going home then going back to Thailand to complete training.

I have lost my closest friend, my inspiration in life, my one and only brother. This is something I could never imagine, but for some reason I feel his life is not a loss. My brother is me! We live our lives through each other. We dedicate our triumphs to one another and share the challenges we face in life. What does someone do when they lose the one person in their life like this? They are devastated right? Allow me to share with you Stathi’s thoughts and what he wants. If you can believe me, I feel you will all be somewhat enlightened to hear what I have say.
The fight will go on! I will do this for Stathi, my family and myself. The moment I walked in for a grueling sparring session after hearing the news of his death earlier that day, my trainer Brendon Smith shook my hand and said to me “you are about to take the bravest step of your life.” We nodded, smiled and went to work. I worked as I have never done before. He is with me and will be all the way. I am happy about this.
I have never experienced anything like I felt that day. Stathi is inside me! We will fight this fight together. I know this is what he wants.
I would like to thank everyone for their well wishes and prayers for my brother, my family and myself. God bless.

During the radio show last night Manny still thought it'd go ahead.

Patrick said Oscar De La Hoya had told Kats to take as long as he liked, and that perhaps things might be put on hold til say Feb next year.

If it's right for Kats, let's hope he goes ahead, and wins it for Stathi, himself & Oz.

I shed tears when reading that letter from Katz, my brother and me are like best mates aswel and losing him would kill me inside. What a true warrior and throw back to the old days. Mick will be fighting like a man possesed and i dont think anyone will be able to stop him come fight night

 

Power to Michael, if he had chosen to postpone the fight it would have been perfectly acceptable and understandable, but to go ahead with it after such a loss is a MASSIVE ask.

I hope all goes well for him and he brings home the chocolates.

Any of you blokes from Sydney? It's just occurred to me I'll be arriving in Sydney early on the 27th and I love a Katsidis fight, is there likely to be some places showing it in the city? I'll be somewhere by the harbour.

 

I would think star city casino would be showing it for sure.

For sure. They are making a movie about damian olivers melb cup triump involving a family tragedy on the eve of his victory.

 

considering nobody thinks he has any chance of winning prior to this week, it would certainly be a pleasure to see him win.
