This ones a special video for Ash, it shows proof of cumdines wheeling and dealing in Australian boxing and in particular boxa promotion run shows, here is the post fight interview everyones been waiting for :good

The way boxa promtions/cumdine works is that they do not pay undercards a cash sum of money. Undercard fighters are given tickets in lue of their purse, an example would be 4k worth of tickets, you sell these tickets and keep the 4k, 2k for you and 2k for your oponent, more for you if you can get an opponent to accept less money.

Katsidis is from QLD and the show was in Sydney, he wouldnt be able to sell many tickets in order to pay his own purse and his opponent, being his opponent was an import he cant share the burden either so he would have been forced to pay his own opponent from his own pocket and would have fought for free.

Some fighters can turn this ticket sales swindle on its azz if they are from Sydney because once the 4k tickets are sold there is an oppertunity to sell more tickets and you collect a % off the top of each ticket sold, you can earn upto 11k for a bout if you sell heaps of tickets. Unfortunatly for Katsidis he wasnt able to do so for reasons already explained.

Thanks TC haven't seen this before.
You could imagine the howls if the situation was reversed and it was Mundine being asked to sell tickets.

Fighters should boycott grubs like Boxa and any other promoters who want to
    pull similar stunts.

The *******s have no ethics at all.

I had not heard of anyone doing this prior to cumdine Ash, the next person to follow was Angelo Hyder however he would give them tables to sell as apposed to tickets, same thing i guess.

A boxer has enough worries on his plate with making weight and training, he shouldnt have to then get out there and sell tickets so he can get paid. I think its safe to say Katsidis told them to shovel the tickets and paid the opponent from his own pocket.

Whats really annoying with what cumdine is doing Ash is it doesnt always mean we see great matchups, if anything it encourages miss matches as you see time and time again on cumdines shows because the guys who sell the tickets get to hand pick their own opponent to fight on national TV and in most cases these guys hand pick tomato cans so they look awsome on TV.

The other problem is money, cumdine has buckets of it, he should be setting an example for other promoters and not turning it into a ticket prostitution center, im sure his father didnt have to sell tickets to get paid, whys cumdine doing this to the younger generation if he is supposed to be helping Australian boxing, more like milking it imo.

Im glad Katsidis spoke up on this, suprizingly he hasnt fought on a mundine undercard since.

No not all....but yes more than you think...the fact is theres not much cash in aussie boxing and promoters need to arrange other deals to make ends meet and put on better cards

If you dont think promoters (other than BOXA) get the better fighters to sell some tickets as well to make the financial deal work you need to ask more questions

Its not about greedy promoters...its making a card work with little public support

End of the day it would be great if 3,000 to 4,000 people came to every fight card but fact is it only happens a few times a year

Ash, cumdine made a cool 1 million dollars on his first promotion, those that followed made more, you cant expect someone to swallow this rot when cumdine is making that sum of money, it is pure greed and nothing more, he claims to do the right thing, gave boxing mouth to mouth in this country but is not doing what the forfathers of this sport have done, he isnt even giving boxers the same graditude his father was given back in the day and that being to pay the guy his purse and not hand him a pocket full of tickets he must then go out onto the street and sell.

For mundine unfortuntatly Ash its ALL about greed, no other reason why a person who is making such a profit would do this.

If I was looking after BOXA promotions I would throw $100,000 at each undercard....but we cant confuse BOXA with other promoters because BOXA is always PPV so the cash rolls in. (all you haters buying PPV :D)

Promoting is hard yards guys you need to stop thinking its buckets of cash and sunshine....as I said before the fans just dont come out and pay for fights like they should.

Try reading my post again mate....I said "other than BOXA"

I'm talking about the rest of Aussie promoters :deal

I'm not defending BOXA at all....I wish they injected more cash into the cards and grew the sport.
