Hoping Marquez could get a fight like this with a live, but not too difficult opponent. I don't think the gaining and then losing of several pounds is a great idea. It can affect his performances. Good brawler vs. Counterpuncher fight. I think this should also tell us if we get the Marquez that ko'd Diaz back.

I'll watch Katsidis fight damn near anyone. He's one of my favorite active boxers. Enjoy him while he lasts, my fellow boxing enthusiasts. I have a feeling he won't be doing battle at the top levels of the sport for very long. You can always count on him to entertain every second of every fight.

i thought it's khan vs jmm? for me, jmm doesn't need to fight katsidis, he already defeated katsidis' conquerors. khan will be a better fight for him imo

    I agree.
I'd be dissapointed if they make a Katsidis fight for JMM to lose his time against.

I'd prefer a Marquez-Hatton fight, because obviously thats big money for JMM.

    A Bradley matchup as a 2nd option.

......Khan would be my third choice.

A Malignaggi fight would be fine and dandy with me for the simple reason that I'm 100% confident that Marquez takes Malignaggi to the cleaners.:deal:bbb
I'd love to see Malignaggi get systematically anhillated!:yep

^ do you think JMM could take Bradley at this point in his career? if JMM power carries well he could have a pretty good punchers chance

why not fight Katsidis in March as a confidence builder/last Lightweight fight ... and then go from their to move up and take on best available

**and especially since there's so much crap going on with Maidana/Malignaggi/Khan

Marquez fighting in March not only benefits his career (as he gets a fight in not too too late in the year), but if he looks good vs Katsidis, he'll look like a more attractive opponent.

**as keep in mind if JMM were to right away fight a contender @ 140 or Welter it would be off his poor performance vs Mayweather. if he fights Kats in March, JMM can raise his stock back up as a potential challenger at 140

I dont view the Mayweather fight as poor performance for Marquez.

He simply fought a fighter on his level skill wise, who beat him with quickness, speed, muscle, and defense.

Simply a matter of Marquez not having a single physical advantage and still coming out that fight without getting physicallly beatup.

Had JMM come off that fight having been worn down and beatup.......I'd say it would be wise to go for an easy touch like Katsidis.

    Thats not what happened however.
There is nothing in that Mayweather fight that would convince me JMM could'nt deal with the likes of Hatton, Bradley, Khan, and Malignaggi........
All these fighters are not a level behind Mayweather, they are Levels behind Mayweather.

.....and to boot Marquez would be fighting a fighter likely 8-10lbs lighter than what he faced in Mayweather in the ring.

Marquez is in his late 30's, and he should'nt be waisting whats left of himself with the likes of Katsidis, who does nothing for his legacy.

Marquez is def off the cards, he wont come to lightweight which means that the WBO have to pull his full title, this will mean that Kats v Guerrero, should it be made, will be for the full title... it is bull**** for Mick though he will fight anyone to get ahead irrespective of the potential risk to his win loss record... i think that most fighters out there need to take a leaf out of his book!!

Marquez got his pay day against Mayweather... he should give up his title and move on, he is slowing down the lightweight division

Marquez is gonna fight all of them on the same night with no breaks.

JMM is a walking Tecate commercial.
