    Bang on :good

The comparison's are similar in that Mitchell and Hatton are / were around the same age when competing for there first world title and probably had around the same number of pro fights and un defeated .

But i dont think Mitchell is carrying the same momentum from a public perspective than Hatton was , i remember the build up and hype surrounding the Tszyu fight very well , everybody knew who Hatton was and how good he was too and it was like he'd been a world champion for years he was that popular , and that highly rated too .

Mitchell can be and will be the next Ricky Hatton in my view , in the way that he's a like able lad , ultra confident , game and is pleasing to watch , added to that he's now competing at world level , the comparison's are all there .

**** me i digressed there , yeah i agree mate Marquez would be the only one who'd fit the Tszyu tag imo :good:lol:

Cheers man. Yea Kev's been a bit overlooked coz of injury and alot of time building Khans career left him in the shadows. Time 4 him 2 step up 2 the big time, this fights the next stage but not THE fight to propel him like Hatton had after Tszyu fight

Yeah, Katsidis is no Tszyu. Think Mitchell probably made the statement because of the Aussie connection. Still be a cracking fight tho and one I'm excited about!

    It's Hatton-Tszyu lite

That's no disrespect and it will likely be a ****ing corker

But both fighters are considerably less quality than Hatton-Tszyu were

That fight has two styles that could make Hatton v Tyszu come second...:yep

Hatton v Tyszu was a great fight and I think it was an even fight upto the 8th round when Hatton started to pull away IMO...:yep

I think Mitchell v Katsidis will be a barnburner and if Kevin Mitchell uses his loaf and fights his own fight he can beat Katsidis...:yep

    Then I own Dan...:hi:

Katsidis is obviously not on the same level as a Tszyu but I THINK what Kevin means is that to him this is his big breakthrough on the world stage where people will sit up and take notice.

katsidis is a very good fighter probably 1 of the Top 5 Light weights today but he shouldnt be compared to kostay tyszu who back in 2005 was the no.1 man at 140 and P4p was 1 of the biggest hitters in boxing, that said this isn't an easy fight and like i said on another thread i lean towards katsidis. I see this fight as mitchells downfall i'd like to see him win, but when katsidis bullrushes him round after round mitchell will most probably revert to his old ways and get his candy ass in a shootout with the aussie which would spell the end of him and his career (he could recive a beatdown in a similar fashion to what graham earl took)

The flip side of that is Earl actually competed very well with Katsidis for a while. He even hurt him. And Mitchell is a far better fighter than Graham Earl, I think we can all agree on that.

I think Katsidas has improved a lot recently though. I was shocked at how much he'd improved defensively in his recent fights. He was always getting involved in tear ups with bums but he showed far more defensive awareness.

the earl fight happened in the beginning of 07 and like you'v rightfully pointed out katsidis has made big adjustments defencively to his game, coming back to the earl fight the only sucess earl had that night was the chopping left that buckelled katsidis legs, katsidis is a pritty seasoned fighter he's seen most the styles at world class level so whatever mitchell brings on the night i'm pritty sure katsidis will have all the answers,

What? Kats best win is a loss in a fight he was winning, also this is a man that got outboxed by Juan Diaz, when Juan Diaz is able to outbox you it says it all about your own Boxing skills, he is tough though.

Remember his fight against Cesar Amongst, what ever his name was? he looked poor in that fight.

Its not even a real world title fight. If anything it should be for the vacant commonwealth title.

He looked pretty good against Amonsot, it was a war, but Amonszot wasn't terrible and Katsidis dropped him early on and beat him so bad he had a blood clot on the brain.

Compare that to Mitchell's fight with Johannson. Not much difference really, other than that Johannson is a lesser fighter to Czar.

:patsch He looked dog**** against Amonsot, he got hit too much and could not cope with the Southpaw style.
