Mitchell just isnt good enough. Beating an unfit 'plodder' like Murray does not mean you've all of a sudden become World Class. He'll try trading and get smashed, he tries boxing he'll last 2 rounds longer then get smashed!

Burns hasn't a hope on this planet of beating him!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Katsidis was SHOT! Thats how he got beat, no way Ricky Burns beats a prime puncher in his prime, except errr when he beat martinez, but that doesnt matter!

Diaz was near elite prior to fighting Campbell. He never really recovered from that. It's better to say that Katsidis only loses to A-level fighters or better. Guerrero is definitely an A-level fighter, as was Diaz at the time.

 

Dunky, I admire the optimism but Burn's is not as good as you believe him to be and has shown nothing to suggest he can beat Katsidis, You can count his last three fight's out straight away, He would have learnt next to nothing in them fights.

Its a game of two halves mate, Kat is dangerous as **** early on, and if he catches Ricky flush he could take him out. But if Ricky can get through the first 5-6 rounds without much damage he will win on points I think, but the first few rounds will be dangerous cause this guy is on another level in the power department to Rickys other opponents,even wee monkeyboy Rocky

 

Kats has beaten better fighters than Burns over the distance. A lot of people are underrating his just like they did against Mitchell.

 

Massive Kats fan but i think its just a matter of time before he loses to someone he shouldnt. IMO Burns is just too small especially considering Katsidis's style, he may lose but i doubt it very much, its all about levels and Kats fights considerably at a higher one. Mitchell if he comes in shape has much more of a chance. Especially considering the fights Kats has been in since there first bout, i reckon it could well be time for the great to hang them up, hes more than done his bit for the sport. If he wants to continue but him in with people like burns/lozada who are either too **** or too weak to do any real damage to him.

To beat Katsidis you have to get his respect, Burns simply does not have the power to keep him off and this one is over inside 4.

He beats Kev in a rematch too.

 

We tend to know when Katsidis starts connecting with his opponents cranium. Only elite fighters to date have been able to handle his tenacity, intensity and power.

 

I think he's lost a step too. He doesn't seem as deadly as he was back in the day. I think this is due to the countless wars he's had down the years having taken the edge off his performances. Age could be a factor slightly, though he is only 31. I think another factor is that people have worked him out a bit more now - he is beatable and easy to hit - not exactly a technically proficient fighter, more of a war-horse. I think the blueprint has been laid down on how to beat him.
