Brenden Smith, trainer of Michael Katsidis, is claiming that his fighter would have stopped Oscar in the same fashion as Pac did. He also goes on to say that Katsidis would beat Pac if given the chance. He claims Pac is very beatable by fighters like Katsidis and Hatton. Isn't this is the same guy that kept telling Katsidis he was winning during his fight against Diaz and also complained to Kellerman about the bad decision? atsch
I really doubt the Katsidis does anything better then Pac, he's slower does not have the same kind of movement, and pretty much is just a one dimensional come forward fighter. Not much of a riddle to solve in this one and I dare say a shot Hoya should still be able to take this, it would remind me of a Mayoraga fight maybe a little more competitive.
katsidis already had two chances vs. casa and j. diaz. he is just a plain good fighter and will never be more than that. he will always be in the outside looking in.
I like Katsidis verry much,he is a warrior, but his trainer talks a bit too much.Katsidis is verry nice guy and i don't think that his opinions are the same as his trainers. He is a good fighter and i think he will deserve title shots in the future.
It's sad, but the pain of blowing an opportunity like the Casamayor fight doesn't get any easier over the years. It just gets worse. It would be a shame if Katsidis has to look back on that fight as his one big chance at glory. He'll only have himself to blame, and that is the hardest kind of failure to live with.
Yes, that, and the time Smith told Katsidis to increase his attack in a fight he was winning, and Katsidis got himself KTFO the following round.
I have to disagree because a fighter with an exciting style will always create interest. Gatti suffered from devastating defeats but still was given opportunities to fight on big stages. I will say that his defeat to Casamayor was a definite setback. Had he won that fight he would have gained a title, preserved his undefeated record, and would have been the victor of one the the year's most entertaining fights. But because the fight was so entertaining, as most of his fights are, there will always be room for him on the big stages.
I would. I haven't seen Katsidis throw many solid straight left hands in his previous fights. :deal Also he is prone to getting hit with the left. I venture to say Oscar would have landed a left hook that would have either koed him or opened up a bad cut.
