Dan Rapahel on ESPN says there is a possibility that Katsidis will be fightin Guerrero on a joint headline event with Saul Alvarez (Anaheim USA)

The card will also likely include a competitive lightweight fight between Gilroy's Robert "Ghost" Guerrero and Australia's Michael Katsidis

Goes to show Katsidis can and will pull big fights for as long as his career will go on for (most likely not many years to go) but as long as it does go on, will pull big fights.

    Well done.

Has been said more than once, but defintely under-appreciated in this country.

Should be a good fight, i think Guerrero is a little sharp for Katsidis but its boxing and Katsidis has that KO power and can make anything happen. Good to see his people are taking the big fights and trying to make some great things happen for Katsidis. I really hope he wins a world title soon, he is one of those guys who really deserves it and will do all it takes to obtain one the RIGHT way. not like these pansys we have selling themselfs here in aussie.

    Go Katsidis!

Yeh good point could be a bit slick. But hopefully by then he is fully focussed ( i have watched all of Kats' fights and am pretty confident his mind was no 100% on the job that night for obvious reasons, no excuse for the loss, was most likely always going to lose to marquez but thats my opinion).

A couple of positives for katsidis in any future fight he has to face

    - I dont believe Katsidis will ever fight someone as accurate and sharp as Marquez again in his career
    - Will not have to face someone as good p4p as Marquez again in his career
    - Is capable of beating (and losing of course) to any lightweight in the world

Agree,if anything i think he should fight even later than March. April/ June would be better i believe.

But the quote from Dan Rapahel from ESPN , was actually a quote in itself from Richard Schaefer from Golden Boy. He would be in the know?

They were looking at putting this fight together when the JMM v Khan fight was being explored, but Katz wanted no part of him, wanted JMM to himself!

I think this should be another mega fight and should be it's own PPV!

Disagree. Promoters need to give quality PPV cards to the fans to compete in the current enviroment.

I would rather see kats fight Murray from the UK in a huge fight that he can win....IMO all credit for taking on the best but he can't win this one either

Kats has a lot of positives. Fitness, focus, agression, courage a good left hand but an ineffective right hand.
Can't remember him throwing a straight right against Marquez and his right hook has become the strangest most ineffective punch for a top level fighter.

Maybe an intensive training camp with a top level trainer could sort things out.
He's not going to outbox any elite fighters with one hand.

Mate he had Marquez going and Marquez is probably the most accurate, skilled combo puncher I can remember... Kats wont be fav, but has a BIG chance...

I'll take Katsidis over Guerrero anyday of the week and twice on Sunday's.

Guerrero was having fits handling Daud Yordan when they met a couple of years back and if you watched the fight, he went the headclash to get the **** out of there and then never re-matched.

Would Michael Katisidis beat Daud Yordan? Absolutely. I think this is a great return fight for Michael.

It's not as if Guerrero's some KO artist with dynamite in either hand either.

Kat's was never going to beat JMM, but by geez he gave him a great fight for the first 6-7rds. JMM's experience and class then went to another level. Ask yourselves, how many shades of **** does JMM take out of Guerrero? That would be a massacre.

    Kat's for mine. :bbb

A very winnable fight for Kats. He hung in there with JMM for 9 rds & had him on the deck. Look forward to this one. I agree I'd like to see someone assist his corner with more direction on strategy throughout a fight.

Everyone can have an off night (Pac vs Sanchez, he wanted the **** out of the ring that night too), I think Guerrero is the goods, underated power..
