Who takes this... IMO this has FOTY written all over it. Chavez is a f*cking warrior, and under rated IMO. Watched him fight Eric Morales for 3 rounds with only one hand, absolutely amazing stuff. Also gave FMJ a very tough fight. I haven't seen much of Chavez's recent form however??? Words can't describe how pumped i am for this one, should it come off. What a card that will be. Imagine Diaz facing the Winner... 2008 is going to be a great year!

Can anyone tell me what happened to him in the Julio Diaz bout? Was he still hurting from the Johnson bout emotionally??

Hurt his leg, after falling to the canvas.
It was not a clean knockout and he was starting to come on a bit before the stoppage. I dont even think Diaz landed any punches to cause him to fall. He only just came back from it last week or the week before.

Im hell pumped for this also, word is that Chavez is looking shopworn and he probably should be after his career. But maybe he is a bit rusty after the injury, he is an awesome fighter and has been in there with the best there is.
He showed mad heart against Morales and Mayweather, getting up from early KDs & fighting injured against the former and throwing all he had at the young, prime latter.

Great matchmaking, this is going be one hell of a fight. As I said in another thread I would of picked Chavez a few years ago but he is getting on and Mick is getting the experience he really needs now.
I think Katsidas can take it out.

    Is this confirmed?

If it isnt PPV then this is a very good card.

Chavez has problems since the tragedy with the johnson fight. I don't know if he still has it in him. He has been inactive since then and in the diaz fight he didn't really get KD or hurt, but there was a problem with his leg. I don't know much now about him or his last fight. Katsidis on the other hand got his ass handed to him by an old past prime casa. I'm picking Chavez to win this one and regain his status but I won't be surprised if katsidis wins, chavez is not seriously the same after the johnson fight. Nice card btw

i like chavez he is a warrior and at his best would probably beat katsidis, however, he has only boxed 13 rounds in like over 2 years and is 35 and hasnt been good with injuries like when he really injured his knee against diaz.

i think katsidis is good enough and more importantly fresh enough to stop chavez late in an absolute war.

Chavez didn't look too bad against Jimenez, especially considering the layoff, and Jimenez was no push over. This should be a FOTY candidate. I think Katsidis pulls it out in the end, though.
