apparently the purse bid was won by oscar de lehoya, the purse is 1.5 million and the split between fighters is 80:20 so baby bull will get 1.2 million and katsidis with 300,000.... thats a massive difference in money, i wonder how he feels about that, me personally i would say 70-30 would be more fair... waynesmale you might know more about what kat is thinking on this?? apparently the fight will be january 28 in houston cant wait..... if kat can titen his defence up he stands a good chance as he can over power baby bull....
jesus christ - not one person giving him a chance in the general.... god the yanks are nut huggers. The thing i dont understand is concerning Kat's facial damage. The guy had 22 pro fights before Amonsot and barely got cut up at all from punches; a bit of swelling but nothing major. Then he fights Amonsot and his face gets beaten to a pulp? Surely Czar doesnt hit THAT much harder than all the other guys. Was it just because he hit Kat more? I really cant figure out a medical reason for the massive difference.
Can't really sya much mate but last i heard was DON KING was set to offer a 20/80% cut to Mike which was nothing short of a total joke as for this so I doubt it is real but maybe Mike is saying screw it he will take it and rather take a shot at Juan rather then worry about the money side of things. Plus it would be alot more than what he would get defending his belt so in the end of the day if it's true it is still a good pay day for him.
Id be surprised if Katsidis was cut to pices in this fight, maybe Amosot turned his fists over on contact and thats what caused the cuts.... its hard to find a reason. Kat will be pumped for this fight, and he will train hard as always which will give him a good chance. Hopefully Baby Bull agrees to the fight, because its not a done deal just yet, i think he will give up the belt and sign to fight David Diaz.
yeah you might be right - i mean its hard to believe anyone could have skin that soft. He didnt take that many punches before he was opened up and most of them were jabs. Very strange :huh
Yeah but, when Amosot threw the first punch of the fight (a fast powerful lead hook) i knew Kat was in for a tough fight. Amosot is a great boxer, id love to see him come to Australia and fight.
yeah he has a great chin and an exciting southpaw style - but i think his fighting days might be numbered. Rocky messed up his head pretty bad mate, internal bleeding and ****
The Pinoys dont give a **** mate, he already had a fight signed in Jan, but they thought more rest time was needed. I bet he fights in 2008
Katsidis will give a great account of himself against Diaz. He may not win, but he will fight right until the last bell.
I have my doubts of this going the distance to be perfectly honest. Diaz is just a class above, and Katsidis is very limited defensively. The offense of Kat will make things competitive, but Diaz is just better in every department, and the skill difference will start to show as the fight goes on. Katsidis won't be able to take a sustained beating for the full distance.
hahaha... I see this being a cautious tactical battle, with precision counter punching on both parts.
Diaz is hardly chinny though. And his power is very under rated. He is sitting down on his punches MUCH more in recent fights, just ask Freitas or Julio Diaz. Freitas is a big puncher, and he couldn't even wobble Diaz, even though he is a better boxer then Katsidis and is more capable of landing clean punches. Although Katsidis will always have a punchers chance, it is very slim against Diaz IMO.
you can be sure that amonsot does not give a flying **** about bleding internally and ****. he'll fight soon. he does not have anything but boxing as a source of income. anyway, i still think it is too soon for katsidis to be fighting the best lightweight out there. but hey, i also thought it was too soon for pac to face the best featherweight in mab. point is, pressure fighters always have a chance. katsidis may just catch juan diaz with something that will knock him out.
