In future when defending Amir you'd be better of not bullshitting. 'The bonafide legend' was well, well, well past his best, if not shot, & fighting at a higher weight class. Add that to the fact that the fight should've been deemed a NC. He also clearly lost rounds to Kotelnik ( I had him winning 9-3; I can't recall anyone on here having it a shutout), and I thought he lost a single round to Malignaggi. And whilst both Kotelnik and Malignaggi may both have been world level, they were not 'world class'. And yes there's a difference.
The Bonafide legend may have been past his prime, but what a prime it was, and still the only ppl to defeat him were Pacquiao, and JMM in a very close pick'em fight a couple of bouts previously, a guy who went onto become the recignised champ at lightweight, a guy of equal height, age and skill. So Barrera at Lightweight was a legitimate threat and got his ears boxed off by Khan. The only round Kotelnik came close to wining was the 4th, where Khan mainly found his gloves, but Khan still got in the better shots and landed more. And you seriosly need to let me know which round it is that Paulie won? I'm still looking for it. and please dont say the 2nd round, please.
You know your desperate when you need a no decision to back up someones resume. Allow me to remind you of breidis prescott. :happy
I am a huge Naz fan am not really bothered that Barrera was abused (moreso by the officials rather than Khan); but that fight should've been stopped after that headclash. You can't give any credit to Khan for bashing up a little old bloke who could hardly see. I can't be arsed to watch that fight again to be honest. I paid £15, and was reasonably entertained despite everybody else saying it was boring, and was made up for Amir when he won. But I remember him losing three rounds on my scorecard, and when I came on here not one single soul had it a whitewash (most had him winning by margins of 4-6). If you did, you're the probably the only person other than that loopy judge who gave him every round. I thought he won the second decisively. I think I gave Malignaggi the third.
Lmao No decision, maybe in your eyes, but the record books say Khan whooped him for 5 rounds straight, and the doc stopped it, if Barrera wanted it stopped, he shoulda asked for it to be stopped in the second round, but he wanted to carry on, maybe cos he'd been reminded of the Breidis Prescott fight and Khan not having a chin, was it you who reminded him of it too? Face it, Khans a different animal under Roach, and is the money name in the division, they all want him, thats why he's in a position to duck ppl, or be accused of ducking somebody, cos there's always somebody else to fight.
Well pretty much everybody on the main forum had it a shutout for Khan, maybe it was different here on the British board, but most ppl i come across, say it was a shutout, and so did Freddie Roach lol. And on what context did you give the 2nd and 3rd rounds to Paulie, was it landing the better punches? more punches? ring generalship? cos in all of these categories I think Khan took both rounds, quite handily.
I gave Khan the second. Malignaggi the third. I remember thinking that Malignaggi landed the more significant blows.
So i guess on that i can safely assume you're not Duke Mckenzie. I guess its all subjective, I've seen it a few times since then, and give it to Khan.
TBH I think Joel is a tougher fight for Khan than Katsidis, but even still I think it's poor that he isn't looking further down the list of available LWW, or getting someone at welter to come down to him
Wow i Can't believe so many racists are here on esb this is terrible just because khan is not white u must be racists khan is a good fighter but no world champion what world champion has he beat wheres his lineage? when he beats bradley or hatton he has an argument but until then he's a cherry picker hes a good cherry picker but a picker for sure
