Kazushi Sakuraba Vs. Rubin Williams

Before I even watch this I see that Sakuraba secured the takedown. Williams no doubt gets subbed.

Although I wasnt exactly going out on a limb in another thread I said Sakuraba gets a single leg and secures a Kimura. Damn im good lmao.

 

I know Williams isnt exactly an elite fighter but if a 40 year old Sakuraba can win as effortlessly as that it just shows how good a 30 year old Saku was.

IMO, Saku has a very reasonable claim to be the best ever p4p MMAist after Fedor... he`s definitely top 5 & please dont insult my intelligence anyone by saying **** like `yeah, good for HIS TIME`.... look at Belfort before the Saku fight & look at him now, both versions are elite & able to be great in any era, Saku at his own peak dominated the much larger Belfort.

Prime Sakuraba would be dominating today just as he was then without question. The most dangerous submission specialist Ive ever seen in MMA next to big Nog (both in prime obviously)

He has a very unreasonable claim. Every single time he stepped up the competition he lost. He has no say in p4p list. That said, I think he is definitely one of the most fun MMA fighters to watch.

 

I agree that he has no claim to p4p number 1 but to say he lost in every step up is BS. Sakuraba dominated Vitor Belfort right when Vitor was coming off that spectacular KO over Wanderlei Silva. Saku dominated Royce back when Royce was still undeafted and thought to be untouchable, submitted the legendary and prime Renzo Gracie. Saku took out Kevin Randleman right before the Cro Cop KO. Throw in wins over Guy Mezger, a younger Rampage Jackson, Carlos Newton and even Ken Shamrock for name purposes gives him a damn good resume.

 

Good fighter. Those Gracies and Shamrocks don't give him **** in p4p. He was a great, entertaining fighter, one of my favs, never p4p top. That's like mentioning Leitis for A.Silva as prove for his p4p argument.

 

I never even made a p4p argument atsch I said simply he has a great resume regardless of what you think. At the period of time that he was most successful in he beat some of the best guys out there. Just like Ken Shamrock deserves credit for beating alot of the best guys from the mid 1990s.
