Yaegashi starting to look very tired as well as swollen. He had looked the stronger man in the first few rounds, not sure now though.
I took a taxi home from my graduation :rofl Everyone went out for drinks and i am home alone watching this GREAT FIGHT !!!
Round 7 Yaegashi signals for a glove touch as he steps out of his corner, but one of his people holds him back and examines his cut once more even though the bell has rung. No warning from the ref. Ioka obliges and touches gloves, delaying the action even more. Yaegashi starts to pop around, lots of angles, coming up at Ioka from underneath and getting lots of spring-action leverage on his hooks. Yaegashi trying to reclaim momentum. Ioka is backing up in straight lines, then swerving to stay off the ropes. Ioka popping that stick. Yaegashi blocks a hook while skittering to his left up on his toes. Yaegashi won't stay still for a second. Ahhh, another pause to check the cut. This ref keeps interrupting the action when it's at its most interesting. Time in. 1-2 by Ioka! Long up-jab by Yaegashi. Jab/uppercut from outside by Ioka, admiring his work a moment and contemplating a follow-up but then quickly scrambling out of there. Yaegashi soars in with big hooks at the head. Jabs stretched out to measure, right hand diving in by Yaegashi. 67-66 Yaegashi
Round 8 Ioka is jabbing well, staking his left foot, compass-spinning, taking aim and firing. Yaegashi advances on him relentlessly, big right hands to the body. Yaegashi is swaying back on the outside, right glove up by his chin to use a leaning/blocking defense against Ioka's straight punches. Yaegashi is making himself a very low target and giving Ioka very awkward angles as he attacks from below with hooks to the midsection while hunched over and constantly moving. Yaegashi forces Ioka back across the ring with a strong high jab, as Ioka turns his palms out to check it on the back foot but doesn't throw back. 10-9 Yaegashi 77-75 Yaegashi
