WBA flyweight title at stake. Airing live on TBS Japan.

Ioka makes the sixth defense of his 112lb championship reign, and is participating in the annual Japanese tradition of December 31st boxing extravangas for the seventh consecutive year.

Dalakian, the Azerbaijani-Ukrainian #1 contender, enters with a record of 15-0 (11). This will be his eighth scheduled 12 rounder, good for exactly half of his pro fights.

I was hoping for a unification with Kimura.

Kimura will likely face Toshiyuki Igarashi next.

Ryosuke Iwasa will defend his IBF title in the co-main event.

I saw this on Alex's Twitter but haven't yet seen it on any of the Japanese language news sites...hopefully Kazuto and Kazunori have patched things up. Talk has been Fujimoto vs Parker would be on TBS too

If Monster's not on the New Year's Eve card, does that mean they'll find a way to get him on SuperFly II after all?

Bummer. I was hoping he'd at least make his usual NYE appearance if they couldn't get him on SuperFlyII.

Likely a separate card from Ioka, though, no? They usually prefer to have Kazuto's light shine the brightest. I wouldn't expect any bigger name than Iwasa to share the stage with him.

There are usually 2-3 competing mega cards in Japan spread over the couple of days around New Years.

Apparently the story was broken by Dalakian's management company on their Russian language site. Interesting...hopefully Ioka will announce the full show soon!
