Martínez is coming out aggressive, combining big uppercuts and overhands. Ioka weathering it and hooking the body. Heavy leather being landed both ways; Ioka downstairs and Martínez headhunting. Ioka starts to pin Martínez on the ropes getting into a nice groove with the beltline 1-2 after getting backed up for the first 90 seconds. WILD lunging hook by Martínez, doubled up and missing widely twice in a row. Another big hook winged out by Martínez and he whiffs against Ioka's ear. Martínez sticking with that hook at medium-close range. Jabs and hooks by Martínez charging in as Ioka puts up a high guard.

Martínez feints a jab downstairs and instead backhands it up into Ioka's face. Martínez ripping body combos and then hooking Ioka's jaw. Big hooks from Martínez causing Ioka's mop of hair to stand on end. Ioka patiently tries steadily toiling away behind a high guard, faec jab, and body hooks. Martínez forcing wild exchanges and landing bombs when he does, although Ioka gets in some big desperate counters as well. Ioka nearly pushed into a corner but squat-marches his way out to center. Overhand right by Ioka partially blocked. Martínez with a jab into the forearms, then an uppercut plugged into the abdomen. Ioka tries his own similar combo, backing Martínez up a few paces. Final half-minute and both men seem to be feeling the frenetic pace of the first five and a half. Martínez gets a burst of energy and tosses some heat. Ioka finishes the round poking the body.

Martínez is shredding his way forward behind huge uppercuts. Ioka slows his advance momentarily with straight volleys on the body. Martínez keeps inexorably rolling in again like a sea tide, overwhelming Ioka with bombs to body and head. Ioka undeterred stays disciplined, guard up, jabbing between Martínez's thumbs and seeking a landing strip anywhere he can find it for pinpoint counter combos even while under heavy fire. Martínez is just spamming a hook against Ioka's right temple. Sustained two-way action in the last 15 seconds in a phonebooth.
