Chihuas seems to be tiring, Ioka getting into a groove a little. His movement is much better.

Ioka took a bit long to adjust by the sounds of it, he'd pieced up Tanaka for the whole fight after losing the first round.

He is definitely dialed in and looking more 'himself' now.

Ioka hurt him with a left hook to the ribs. Not going nuts. He's taking his time and landing sharp rights up top. They trade in the last minute Ioka gets the best of it, although Chihuas had a little success late.

    Round 7

Rodríguez is taking a few steps around Ioka, then winging a right hand, often almost roundhouse, aiming for Ioka's braids and mostly whiffing or getting parried. Ioka remaining very calm and workmanlike, not letting Rodríguez's unpredictable staccato pressure unruffle him, just lining him up with counter 1-2s upstrairs and occasional hooking salvos on the hip when Rodríguez dives all the way inside.

    10-9 Ioka

    67-66 Ioka

Chihuas comes out quite aggressive, prompting Ioka to hold quite a bit. Ioka getting back into his rhythm a minute in. He's stalking him now. Unfortunately Rodriguez finishes stronger, Ioka goes down on a knee, but it's a push.

    Round 8

Rodríguez is falling in with every shot, other hand low and chin sticking up, thrust out like bait. Ioka doing a good job pulling the rug out from under him, moving at diagonals to make Rodríguez churn oxygen with his ponderous solo blasts and two-pieces. Ioka for all his defensive superiority is getting caught with some flush shots, though, as Rodríguez just spams him with punches coming forward, playing the numbers game (broken clock and whatnot). Ioka still with the meatier, more meaningful stuff with his body hooks and straight combos on the face of the tough, imperturbable Mexican. Ioka down, correctly ruled a slip/shove, not a KD.

    10-9 Ioka

    77-75 Ioka

Chihuas seems to have found his second wind. He's trying to maul him now. He's nailing him with clean one twos up the middle. ioka looking gassed now. Terrible round for Ioka. Okay, now he probably needs a KO.
