Ioka leveling up now, going into boss mode with big combinations, up on his toes, a strut in his step, head tilted down, eyes focused and peering up at Rodríguez, who is now bleeding from the left eye. Ioka the one coming forward now, testing Rodríguez's ability to fight backing up. Ioka hammering away, then floating outside, turning Rodríguez a bit, and restarting the whole process. Brilliant stuff from the champion. Rodríguez just spinning in place watching, then getting hit, and waving his gloves at phantoms.

Rodríguez is throwing spirited 1-2s up top, but lacks the speed or timing to catch an alert Ioka from the outside. HARD counters by Ioka, putting together right hand leads and left hooks on the jaw. Rodríguez is showing a great deal of grit walking through it all, oozing blood now from his mangled nose as well as his eye, but Ioka has a little something waiting for him every time he lunges in. Rodríguez is clinched, released, and then banged on the honker with several more right hands while trying to swarm Ioka into the ropes. Rodríguez throwing the kitchen sink, and Ioka mostly sidestepping or outrunning it, getting hit but not enough to trouble him.
