Franco cut!

 

Ioka is now fearlessly unloading once in Franco's range. The respect for what's coming back is diminishing with him and he's now responding with his own far superior jab but Franco is still hanging in there and landing his own salvos in return. Ioka is just getting the better of Franco in more exchanges in what looks like a statement-making round for him.

Didn't catch most of the round, Ioka seemed to have edged it. Although he is starting to look gassed, Franco has a cut over his right eye I think.

Franco now comes out like a man possessed, Ioka cleverly let's him unload and miss aplenty. Big counters by Ioka in the middle of Franco's advances which are numerous. Franco then adapts by using a risk averse jabbing strategy which Ioka interrupts twice with sequences that hurt Franco.

Ioka with his left hand down, parries and blocks most of Franco's punches, and counters in return. Franco buzzed at the end.

Both open the round on even terms with their jabs. Ioka is evidently awaiting counter overhand right and left hook opportunities. Ioka consistently poking double jabs upstairs and down and picking off left hooks to the body when appropriate. He's loving the pocket right now, he's living in it, that's Ioka's zone and he's in the zone.
