Coming up on New Years. I'm just about to watch and score the first one, but before I do I'm curious... Was this a fairly judged bout, or a case of home cooking? I've heard it said that Reveco is something of a tucked away gem of a fighter, under appreciated. Getting ready to digest footage of both Ioka and Reveco. On a related note, how does the rematch go?
Fair decision. Ioka got the better of it with his superior reach and cleaner counter punching. Reveco's alright. Ioka should win a decision in the rematch in another closely contested technical fight.
Had Yaegashi by a round I think, so can't argue too much (and lets not forget that Yaegashi is fantastic himself). Reveco apparently came close to no-showing at the media work out, doing about 4 minutes of his work out (as opposed to 90 minutes ahead of their first bout).
None given, Kazunori Ioka (Ioka's dad and trainer) said he thought Reveco was "nervous" but their is a suspicion he's either out of shape or just being moody
Neither are good before a fight on the very highest level, especially that far detached from home, the culture shock, the food, time zone difference, etc.
