Khomitsky looked fine at SMW, really strong. Just because a fighter fights at MW doesn't mean that coming up to SMW he carries no power and cannot hurt a SMW. :nut Especially one that was making such big defensive errors and walking onto loads of hard looping shots.
Exposed as what, beatable? Boxing is a sport, the chances are you are going to lose at some point. Admittedly its happened earlier in Georgie Kean's career than some may have thought, but the guy he lost to is nobody's mug. Losing is no disgrace. Some people go on and on about a fighter being 'exposed' as if the veil of illusion; that they were somehow going to retire 49-0 like Marciano, has been lifted. It's such an instantaneous reaction to a single result; what if they had off nights? If taken the right way defeat can work wonders for a career.
Come on Solaris you may not like him but he definitely does not have a glass jaw, buglioni has taken some good shots without being hurt. it's his defence that's the problem (although it has been improving) and he jumped up a few levels too far on Saturday
Exactly this, some fighters who were supposedly 'exposed' after their first loss went on to have unbelievable careers. I suppose manny and Lennox were exposed when they first got knocked out? (Not that buglioni is in that class, just pointing out how ridiculous the 'exposed' statement is)
I'm more interested in seeing how he responds to the defeat - come back stronger or wither away? It's a test of character more than anything. He's no ATG but he's still a competitive boxer albeit with flaws, whether those flaws can be corrected remains to be seen. Our tradition of boxing seems to covet the fable '0' far too much; the Japanese have no qualms about getting down into the nitty-gritty as fast as possible, even if it means losses, in some cases bad losses, along the way. It certainly makes for a more interesting environment for the sport.
Buglioni showed some serious balls wanting to continue even though he could barely stand up so we know he has heart anyway, there is one positive to take from it that was a monster left hook in particular he took flush its impressive in itself he didn't go down before the end
he never even went down, when you're being hit so often and so flush it isn't a big shock if you start to get hurt, doesn't mean he has a glass jaw, means his defence is awful
He didn't go down as he was bouncing off the ropes. Take them away and he'd have gone about 20 feet after one particular straight left. Reality is Khomitsky is a MW with a less than impressive KO % and Frank should have put him away with ease. What do they do with him now? He'll have to continue to be fed blown up MW's from Eastern Europe as he can't fight anyone domestically because the likes of Fielding and Smith would destroy him.
Sums it up that you've had to resort to that! Don't worry, I'm sure Frank will be demolishing JMW's in no time at all.
Who said I noted their names, **** end? Watch their fights back and you will hear it for yourself if you're so desperate for names.
