He was the WBO champ at 147, genius.

And ohhh what an illustrious legacy Kell Brook has. His legendary win over.... Porter...

Williams beat Margarito, and rest assured a prime Margarito would have beat the Holy Hell outta Brook.

The WBO is no different from any other organization at this point. It's been recognized as one of the four major belts for quite some time now. ALL the belts are a joke at this point, what makes the WBO inferior?

What matters is who they beat for their respective belts. Williams clearly beat Margarito at a time when Margarito was the most avoided fighter in the sport, while Brook outboxed Porter in a horrible fight.

Do you think Brook beats Margarito?

The governing body took another look at the match after being implored to do so by Pacquiao and his camp, but the WBO announced its decision and said The Hornet won seven rounds to Pac-Man's five:

"Upon the analysis, the findings stated that Pacquiao won the 3rd, the 8th and 9th by 100%; the 5th round was won by 80%; and the 11th round by 60%. Horn won the 1st, 6th and 12th rounds by 100%; rounds 2nd, 4th, and 7th by 80%; and then, the 10th round by 60%. From the results, it can be established that Pacquiao won 5 rounds while Horn won 7 rounds."

Besides that BS they rank dead people.

    **** the WBO.

LOL. Yeaaaa ok. A guy who had trouble with the roughness of Adrian Granados... but he's gonna beat Margarito.

Honestly have only seen a few Brook fights. Saw a bunch of PW fights.

To me, it all comes down to how much of a slick, counter puncher Brook was. As imposing as PW was, whether his natural size, speed and workrate, he left himself open. We saw Quintana pick him apart.

Since I only saw a few Brook fights, I can't call it.

What Lujan did in the first two rounds of this fight, Porter would do all night long.

I think Margarito folds under that pressure, and Margarito ain't knocking Porter out.

I love Brook, but he ain't winning here. He's getting out-worked and stopped late. Dominated.

Shame everyone forgets just how talented kell brook was. One fighter Hearn completely mismanaged.

I fancy brook in this. He’s past prime , lost interest and he’s still easily beating contenders

Yeah, I remember how that fight eventually turned out for Lujan.

Porter is not out brawling a prime Margarito. Shawn is gaining this reputation off of being a tough loser at this point.

It's no coincidence that Shawn's best four wins came over guys who had their primes at 135-140 (Garcia, Broner, Alexander, and Paulie).

He's lost to all three quality natural welterweights he's faced.

Theres nothing on his resume to suggest he could beat a guy the size and strength of Margarito.

I thought he lost to Ugas for Christ sake.

Yeah, he gasses out and his output stops.

For the first two rounds a 5'6 inexperienced Lujan outbrawls Margarito just fine.
Margarito doesn't handle brawlers with quick hands too well.

    A lot like Margarito then.

Of the three guys who have beaten Porter, the only one who would be beat Margarito is Spence.

Margarito would dish out beatings to Thurman and Brook.

But if we just stick to the matchup at hand, Kell Brook has no chance against Williams because he sucks at handling pressure. As soon as Spence warmed up and turned on the heat, Brook had zero answers.

Paul wouldn't feel him out like Spence did. He'd be applying pressure and maintaining a heavy work rate from the jump.

The type of counterpuncher that Kell Brook is does NOT thrive against a top class pressure fighters. He's not James Toney or JM Marquez. THOSE are counterpunchers who were brilliant at picking apart pressure fighters. Not Kell Brook.

I actually like Kell Brook. I'm somewhat of a borderline fan of his... but he's a mental midget who lacks intangibles.

You can't be a mental midget and beat a prime Williams.

For what it's worth... I think a prime Brook would have beaten Thurman and Danny Garcia.
