Hasn't Vann retired now? He is a good ref anyway, half you ****'s sticking ****ing smileys in have probably never seen him ref a fight. Go watch Hatton-Tackie and say he did a bad job.

Yeah that's a great idea. Here's how that scenario goes (and I reference the majority of Hatton's career as evidence): Hatton grabs hold of Pac and walks him to the ropes (a foul), Hatton rubs the top of his head in pac's face (a foul) while looking for an opening, Vann yells "let 'im go Ricky" but doesn't separate them or warn/penalise Hatton, Hatton ignores him, wrestles( a foul), hits and holds (a foul), Vann yells "let 'im go Ricky", Hatton ignores him, wrestles (a foul), hits and holds (a foul), Vann yells "let 'im go Ricky", Hatton ignores him, wrestles (a foul), hits and holds (a foul), Vann taps Hatton on the shoulder and yells "let 'im go Ricky", this time Hatton complies, Hatton and pac box briefly, Hatton grabs Pac and walks him to the ropes (a foul).........rinse, repeat......

Cortez broke Hatton and Mayweather apart because the were both fighting dirtily from the firt bell, Mayweather was headlocking Hatton, Hatton was trying to do what he always does, in fact he bent Mayweathers arm back in the first round exactly as Tyson did to Botha, Tyson was penalised, Hatton wasn't. Cortez didn't have a bad night, didn't referee unfairly, Hatton's whole style is to bend the rules to snapping point, Vann, paris et al let him do it because they're home town refs favouring a home town fighter. Cortez just didn't lt him cheat.

Mickey Vann is a decent ref. When he reached 65 the BBBofC have rules that say a ref has to retire from officiating domestic fights, but he can still work abroad.

I assume that if you didn't think Cortez had a bad night on PBF/Hatton then you thought he had a bad night in Cal/Bhop....because he certainly let Bhop 'cheat' in that fight...or was that just defensive wizardry from Bhop? :roll:

 

Actually he is a good ref but he'senglish so I don't trust him.
