Keith Thurman as he is now, is a favorite vs Henry Armstrong (Top 5 ATG Welter)

Keith Thurman holds his ground vs SRR, SRL & Felix Trinidad (Top 5 ATG Welter)

I can't say the same for Mayweather, as I see all Top 5 Welter ATGs favorites against him

Uhh no. They were negotiating and Maidana said he needed a tune up.

    when was this?

    after the Alexander fight?

Maidana was having a crisis of confidence back then, so it makes sense to get back to winning ways before taking on one of the contenders out there.

    no duck there.

but now, even though Thurman is the mandatory to the WBA, he's been pretty silent on all things Maidana if you ask me. doesn't sound so confident now does he.

with the way he likes to present himself, i would have thought he'd be shouting from the roof tops for that fight and rubbishing the Broner rematch. but nothing. :think

i've asked you to give me some information on this, but you haven't given me anything.

i mean, how recent are we talking about? just after he fought someone? just before?

i need more than you're giving me.

Maidana maybe turned Thurman down for Lopez and i don't blame his as he knew it was a title shot vs Broner or Paulette after that. This is a guess on my part though, as i only thought he "ducked" a Thurman fight in 2012.

I also understand him turning down the fight after the Devon fight,. Thurman was an unknown then (never had a fight live on TV yet) and a win over him would not have been worth the risk. Fighting Karass for double the money on the under card of Canelo was a wise decision.

I think he has a lot of potential to be the man at welterweight. Solid solid fighter.
