Say he fought in the 1940s Welter era. How well would he perform? Does he clean house and then rampage through the middle weight division, scaring Jake LaMotta into an early retirement? Or something less far fetched?

A man that fights an average of once a year doesn't go very far in the 1940s. LOL!

If Robinson and Thurman fought there'd be fans crying and screaming at the ref to stop the fight as Robinson beats a lucid Thurman on the ropes

I don't know why I just pictured a woman ringside hysterical and in tears witnessing the massacre.

Thurman wouldn't get past Zivic or Angott,...never mind SRR or Gavvy. He's a punk, that's all.

He wouldn't need to. Thurman would be a heavyweight in the 40s.

Thurman gets his balls crushed by Zivic
He gets his his face ripped apart by Gavalin (although he'd make the distance)
He'd resemble a dog's chew toy against SRR

I know, I get it, I'm just having a bit of fun with it. But on the subject of the '40s, I was reading an old article on a top contender (wish i still had it now) and the top contender was injured and laid up and inactive for 7 months. In that time he dropped out of the top 10. That will tell you how often they fought and the competition they endured.
