He's becoming a casualty of PBC. A star can't rise if there is no momentum. He fought in June and isn't expected to fight again until next year.

Some people don't like to hear it, but signing with PBC is career suicide at this point. They fight once a year, maybe twice if you're young and lucky. Beterbiev's career is being wasted (remember that purse bid masterplan that went nowhere?). Garcia has lost every bit of momentum. Lara has no momentum and he's trying to keep himself relevant on Twitter. And you know that guy named Devon Alexander? He hasn't fought since 2015.

    What a waste.

This is true. The entire crew has faded since GBP broke up and fractioned off.
I remember 2013 being a great year in boxing then 2014 had some of the worst cards in recent history and then the break up.
The chemistry was that Oscar could promote, Schaefer could match make very well and Haymon was the money.
The holy trinity in boxing was destroyed because they were trying to out Oscar in his own house. Now no one is doing well on their own. Even Top Rank started to suffer from this.

This is not fully true. If you are willing to take a few hundred thousand or thousand you are good. The lower tier fighters are very active.
    Caleb Plant
    Erickson Lubin
have been very active in the past 2 years. You guys are hung up on name recognition and not the fights themselves. PBC had 66 fights this year vs the 15 HBO had. Thats because HBO only promotes the same fighters over and over again.
Canelo and Golovkin each had 2 meaningless fights that took up time slots. Crawford vs Postol was PPV. Lomachencko is just now fighting this year and so is Walters. Why bag on PBC and ignore the ****ery of others?

It is, but it would be better if he got the group back together. What is Axel Rose without the rest of the band?

I don't know who those fighters are. It's easy to put them on when you pay them like $10,000. 66 fights with over 200 fighters. Even if all the opponents are inhouse, that's less than 1 fight per fighter. A dismal figure.

I don't care how much HBO has. Some promoters stage fights all over the world... Mexico, England, China, Japan, everywhere. They give their fighters a chance to fight.

It still doesn't take away the fact that 99% of PBC fighters has no momentum. They're sitting and doing nothing. That is career suicide.

I see. I was going to make a point but then I remembered that I have been to 3 Top Rank fights in Studio City this year and 1 PBC fight (Berto vs Ortiz 2). GBP has many matches at Fantasy Springs Casino out in Palm Springs and at the Belasco Theater in L.A.. Thompson Boxing( Josesito Lopez, Willie Monroe) have fights at the San Bernardino Double Tree Hotel. **** man maybe Haymon would do better heading back to the Indian Casino's.
PBC never hs fights in Las Vegas and I always wonder why?

So far, Thurman, Garcia, Lara, Broner are sitting on the shelf waiting for.... what?

seems like Al's plan of overpaying the fighters he 'advises' to fight completely over-matched opponents once a year isn't doing them any favours

I don't blame Haymon I blame the fighters. Haymon truly advises these guys . Its up to them to fight. Why would he not let Garcia and Broner fight Pacquiao if Top Rank is footing the bill? He let Khan fight Canelo, right? Khan wanted it and he got it.
Overpaying is giving a foreign fighter who cannot fill a playground and has a loss in 7 fights $850,000 and paying his more accomplished opponent less. That's overpaying.

WHAT HE PAYS HIS FIGHTERS FOR ONE FIGHT HE COULD HAVE THEM FIGHT TWO FIGHTS FOR THE SAME PRICE,.

That's a shame because these young guys need to stay active. You can't build your resume and legacy if you're not fighting. They're going to squander their prime years.
