Thurman has a lot of good stuff in his game, accuracy, power, stamina etc. More importantly though he is very disciplined and willing to let his hands go when he steps up.

Even if he isn't on May's level now he's only 25 and his resume is getting stronger, he has plenty of time to round out his skillset and make a big run on the world stage.

In all seriousness unless his chin betrays him Thurman will get far

I'm becoming a big fan of Thurman and he's becoming a real complete fighter, good power in both hands, excellent footwork, excellent stamina, solid chin, versatile... but he's not at the elite level yet. I really hope he gets a shot at a Maidana or Porter soon though.

Thurman is legit but he won't beat Floyd. Especially on the big stage.

You know, guys like Alvarez & Broner got all this hype early, but they were never developed with tough opposition. Thurman has been getting a lot less attention by his promoter, but atleast he's been thrown in with good fighters. He won me over with his performance against Zaveck. Zaveck's not a fast or big puncher, but he really tested Thurman's mental resolve.

I like Thurman and the way he recovered and came back from those early shots he took was impressive. But he's not ready for Mayweather.

I'd like to see Thurman fight Maidana. Now that's a hell of a fight.

He strikes me as being the type of guy who could learn a lot from the experience, though.

Canelo was further along in his progression though. It's possinble Thurman could be a viable opponent before the time Mayweather hangs em up.

I'm not seeing it. Thurman is good but the best? Not even close. I can think of 5 guys who beat him right off the top of my head. Maybe #7 in the welterweight division.
