It's nice to feel sentimental about Pac and think he's still the fighter he was. He isn't. He's 40. Even semi-prime Pac hated movers.

Thurman's movement would drive pac absolutely crazy. He's not a seek and destroy pressure fighter and Pac these days isn't himself all that keen on getting countered.

Current Pac would struggle mightily even with this diminished Thurman.

I don't think Pac is anywhere near the fighter he was, but journeyman Lopez didn't seem to have too much trouble punching Thurman in the body and face.

Because journeyman Lopez was himself willing to get Koed and was using a pressure offense. Pacquiao does not at all want to get Koed at this point and would get involved in a "boxing match" with Thurman, who plays that game as well or better at this point.

Pacquiao is not a pressure fighter. He was a little bit in his 126 days. Hasn't been for a long time. He's an ambush fighter with seriously reduced work-rate who is easily frustrated by movement and is not too comfortable with big welters either.

    It's a 50/50 fight.

What, because Thurman got sloppy and got hurt late? Pssh. I watched the first few rounds of this and Rojas vs. Xu >>>>>>>>>>> this. I don't regret missing the second half of this in the least (although I am going to check out the round where Josesito buzzed him when it pops up on YT because that sounds funny af...)

We actually agree. When I said Pac should fight Thurman ASAP I didn't mean that Pac would definitely win. I meant that Pac would definitely have a chance against this diminished version of Thurman.

Lopez actually tried to win and his grit and will made it a good fight. Whatever Broner got paid he deserved ten times as much.

Josesito's punches were painfully slow and he caught Thurman plenty.

Broner had quicker feet and was legit running from Pac and Pac caught him. He'll catch Thurman and finish him. Thurman ain't as tough and durable as Broner.

No...It was a good fight because it was a good fight. It may not have had the sustained action of Xu-Rojas, but there are several cases even after Thurman got his bell rung where he was shaken by Lopez. Decent pace throughout, with some good two action as the rounds progressed.

Just because it was high profile doesn't mean it was bad.

Anyone know what Thurman said in regards to the Pac fight question? I had to switch away and missed it.

He said he is willing to fight Pac, and it would be a great fight.
