Don’t worry, Mikey won’t hang around after the Spence defeat.

The ring rust definitely showed tonight, especially in the later rounds. Thurman needs another tune fight before facing another WW champ! Spence, Crawford and even Porter at this point would beat Thurman. Lets see how he looks in his next fight before assuming he's done. He been out the ring for 2 years, so I'm going to give him a pass.

Why give him a pass? Lopez is 35, been through a ton of wars, and was never beyond gatekeeper level to begin with. Pacquiao came back from KTFO6 and a year long lay off to shut out a prime Rios.

If a slow, plodding limited Lopez can nearly KO Thurman I think Pac at 40 has a very good chance to beat him up.

Pac is on a b level tour and Thurman can get it if he wants.

Thurman struggled mightily tonight, while I had him winning by a wide margin, by no means was it a cakewalk, he came damn close to losing several rounds, and was rocked on countless occasions, and nearly KTFO. Remind me again how many times Manny got rocked, was nearly KTFO, and how many rounds did he come damn close to losing?

Lopez and Broner are on a similar level, and if they fought, in all likelihood Broner would probably edge it by a round or two.

Style wise, yeah, Keith would give Pac issues, but this version of Pac, is better than this version of Keith, and may have KO'd him if they were fighting tonight.

Early in the match One Time looked good but stamina started to creep in by the middle rounds and that combined with a motivated Lopez caused some problems for One Time. One Time's style is predicated on moving his body quickly out of the way of danger through constant lateral and backwards movement, wait for his opponent to finish throwing then step in with a one two or a combo. When your body starts slowing down and you can't get out of the way of punches quick enough, especially when a guy like Lopez can lunge in quickly and surprise him with punches. What made this so competitive and tough for One Time was he was at a considerable reach disadvantage. Lopez had a height advantage as well so One Time couldn't get out of range vs this guy like he normally does. So unlike most guys he's fought Lopez was right on top of him even when he tried to move. And later in the fight One Time started blocking his head more realizing that his getting out of danger body movement speed wasn't fast enough to avoid big punches vs this guy. Lopez had this man scouted well and Robert Garcia put together a good gameplan to take advantage of this. When One Time was getting hit with flush jabs in the middle rounds his head was snapping back. One Time really has to tighten up that defense if he's gonna get in there vs the top guys of the division.
