Keith Thurman vs. Danny Garcia & Erickson Lubin vs. Jorge Cota RBR.

Keith has adopted the "Chicken Thurman" moniker.

 

Haha Garcia reminds me of Simple Jack from the film Tropic Thunder.

 

No clean punches + no cutting the ring + eating too many counters + not paying enought to judges = that. Agression to the air, shoulders or guard make no winners.

 

KT really made DSG look ordinary. Don't get me wrong, Danny's a great fighter, but Thurman is so much more dynamic and skilled as a boxer. The way he was able to land and get out of the way was unbelivable. Many times Thurman landed a punch, then ducked under Danny's punches. Just an awesome performance by Keith Thurman.

 

The superior boxing, cleaner punches, the more consistent work, etc. all exhibited by Thurman.

This isn't the first time someone's done just this to Garcia either. The difference is the judges actually got it right this time.

 

I don't see how he can beat Thurman. Thurman's speed and in and out boxing skill, and Keith's ability to slip punches make him really difficult for DSG style-wise. Maybe DSG could try to fight the winner of Spence Brook?

 

I have no idea where you're seeing this landslide win for Thurman, both judges that had it 115-113 were in the right ballpark. To consider the performance Thurman put on as a wide victory is crazy to me, any judge that would have scored that the couple of 117-111's or even 118-110's I've seen here should be banned. Thurman won on the judges cards, but that wasn't some wide margin win, it was close a draw or even Garcia winning would have been well within reason, Thurman did throw the last 3 rounds away.

 

I see both guys beating him.

 

Thurman just kept capitalizing on Garcia's frustration. It's as if Garcia didn't have a plan B. Danny didn't even try to set up the bodyshots he just went straight for them and Thurman saw them coming a mile away. Thurman is the real deal.

 

New York is a great city for boxing, but this fight..ugh.

Ffs, I wanted to mute the TV more than I ever wanted to in any fight, because there was so much booing, but the thing is - IT'S COMPLETELY JUSTIFIED!! I'd boo too if I was there.

Every round (Other than the first 2), had fans jeering and booing.

That speaks volumes.

 

Lol makes me laugh when those resident GGG haters say Golovkin can't box,cutting off the ring like Golovkin does can't be as easy and straightforward as what it looks cause theyed all be doing it,case in point was Kovalev v Ward,I was surprised how Kovalev couldn't do that to Ward

 

I had DSG winning the 10th and the 12th. I think the 11th may have gone to Thurman but I'll have to watch again. I think the only rounds you could give to Danny of the first 9 were the 3rd and the 6th. I know Farhood gave him the 2nd. The other rounds I thought Keith Thurman won clearly and convincingly. Where as rounds like the 3rd and 6th that Danny may have won were very close. So you could make the argument DSG won 4 or 5 rounds, but the rounds that Keith won were far more clearly won. Personally I think 116-112 was about right.

 

Shame cause his last fight v Porter was a great fight

 

It really wasn't that close. I had it 117-111, but 116-112 is very reasonable. And I was rooting for Garcia. Danny was tight and couldn't let his hands go. Thurman had much to do with that; Garcia was too worried about being countered. Thurman really is the larger man, despite the tale of the tape.

 

They should have put Overeem-Hunt as the Co main...
