Thurman shows he can effectively fight backwards.

    Round 2

Thurman is backing up and feeding the jab into Diaz's face. Diaz places a 1-2 on the stomach of Thurman and eats a blazing fast counter 1-2 on the face, snapping his neck back. Diaz somehow regains his composure in no time. Thurman is looping in big right hands around Diaz's guard. Huge left uppercut by Thurman. Diaz is rocked into retreat. Thurman rushes in but eases off when Diaz throws a desperate combination of jabs and uppercuts. Thurman is snapping out hard jabs from the hip onto Diaz's face. Whipping hook by Thurman, Diaz goes to a knee. He pops up at seven. BIG left hook by Thurman, partially blocked. Diaz fires back at Thurman until the bell, spinning him onto the ropes.

    10-8 Thurman

    20-17 Thurman

Diaz can only win this fight by waiting and landing the best counter of his life a la Marquez Pacquiao

  13. 1. Thurman's coming forward behind his jab. Lands two and a left and right to the body. Diaz comes with his hook. Thurman fires and lands another. Double-jab by Thurman. Left hook by Thurman. Double jab by Diaz. Right and a left from Thurman and a jab. Solid up-jab and a right both by Thurman. Right and left by Thurman. Solid shots. Another left hook by Thurman. Thurman slips a right and a left. Left hook by Thurman. Right, left, right, left, all in retreat by Thurman, who took a right to the chest during that sequence. Thurman, 10-9.

Thurman looks good but I expected him to dominate Diaz.
