Al Bernstein & Steve Farhood both have it 57-57.

Danny Jacobs has it 58-56 to Figueroa.

    Round 7

Figueroa is walking through precise sharp jabs from Belmontes and laying hands on him, left jabs and rights on the neck. Figueroa switches to southpaw while in pursuit, lunging in with right jabs and lefts up top. Belmontes is moving and countering no matter what look Figueroa gives him. Leaping jab from a crouch by Belmontes, landing underneath Figueroa's chin. Belmontes is quickly spinning Figueroa around landing from odd angles.

    10-9 Belmontes

    67-66 Belmontes

Belmontes up 4-3. I thought he boxed well in the past couple of rounds, though the sixth was very close.

Didn't they meet in the amateurs?

Belmontes claims to have "made Figueroa cry", did I read that recently? :think

Starting to believe that could be a true story.

    Round 8

Figueroa is bouncing around, falling in with right hands on the body and not quite getting a piece. Figueroa switches to southpaw and stabs in with right jabs, failing to step in with them, lurching forward with just his upper body. Belmontes is picking apart Figueroa at mid-range with right hand leads, standing tall and keeping his defense tight while remaining lithe and relaxed.

    10-9 Belmontes

    77-75 Belmontes

Hmmmm. Which eye blew up on Matthysse vs Garcia? His left looks a lil puffy before the fight has even started.

    Round 9

Figueroa throws a lead right hand falling in, countered obliquely with an uppercut as Belmontes skips around him. Belmontes is kicking back off the balls of his feet and forward off the heels, darting in and out when not moving laterally, scoring jabs on the face of Figueroa and eluding him at every turn. Figueroa is fighting southpaw, pumping a slow right jab out as he cruises after Belmontes slowly. Figueroa crosses his feet, switching from southpaw to orthodox and back at the expense of his balance as he lunges with jabs mid-switch. Belmontes is circling at distance, refusing to engage. Cuffing left hook across the back of the head by Belmontes as Figueroa is diving in to flurry the body from too far out. Clinch.

    10-9 Belmonets

    87-84 Belmontes
