The fans was way too harsh on him . Ths man gives us knockouts after knockouts and the 1 night he doesn't , everyone wants to jump on him and relentlessly boo him ?? That was completely unnecessary and distasteful .
Bundu wasn't a fool, he made it a point after round 1 to not place himself in a position where he was open or that off balance to get caught like that again, he adjusted then Thurman knew what was in front of him and saw Bundu was attempting to counter and he adjusted as well. I actually saw more growth in Keith Thurman, he's not a face forward try to get the knockout and blow his load guy. He's perfectly willing to stay on the outside and box to the win. He did a good job. True multi-dimensional fighter, he can win in more than one way.
It wasn't electrifying as many were hoping, but it's unfair (and misguided) to take it as a sign of limitation. Bundu has no neck, kept his hands high and jittered about. He was obviously physically strong as well so it was in Thurman's interests to keep this one long. It doesn't pardon the display but it helps you come to terms with it. Keith winds up a little too much at times which gets him tagged, too much of an obvious transition from cool to hot, but when you have a fighter that can move well and punch you've got some great raw material. Maidana is rather hittable. It may be the showdown to launch Thurman.
the fight just made me appreciate khan more, even though he was in with a more dangerous fighter has a poor chin and is in the run in for a mayweather fight he still tried to throw big combinations and dtook some risks when he was comfortably ahead pretty much just for a bit of entertainment, thurman gave up on trying to fight hard early and moved around the ring a lot, some are saying this is the sweet science but he wasnt convincing in a fair few of them rounds this wasnt like mayweather , there was a lot of unnessasaryc movement more like lara. the booining was harsh but its how thurman goes on and really there barely been a bad word said about him since he got going and he didnt react to well to that boiing, most of the people replying probably wernt that high on him before but his big fans must have been dissapointed with how he fought wasnt my cup of tea anyways
everytime i switched over, thurman is running around, being chased by a 45 year old man with the crowd booing him. 2 steps back far as entertainment value.
Thurman's chin is shaky. Pump bundu all u want he's a 40 yo European with 2 fights outside Italy. Say what u want about how I must not be a real boxing fan but bundu isn't **** on the world stage. He's nothin n kieth ran from him like a girl. Kieth got a glass jaw n this is how he will perform from here on out. Maybe he still gets kos...but if it happens it will be the only high point of the fight.
he pitched a shut out. u can't knock them all out. i thought he looked great considering the other guy was an undefeated former olympian who had never been knocked out. no shame. he has nothing to apologize for. the fans who were booing are stupid as fcuk.
This :deal Bundu was no mug, he was the undefeated European champion. It was a good test for Thurman and he passed.
He boxed from the outside and won a easy UD i have no problem in which the way he won you knock everyone out
I have to agree ,specifically when he said it wouldn't go past 4 rounds and now that performance takes him out of the sweepstakes.
Have never seen Thurman before? Showed a new side? He's fought this way numerous times just, luckily for him, he's had foes who have opened up a big more whilst following him (JSK for instance). This was nothing "new" from him. It was a dull performance after all the talk. You can't say Floyd and Pacquiao are avoiding you then put in a performance like that. IF you want the best to fight you you need to get ALL THE FANS onside. He didn't due to his negativity. He effectively shot himself in the foot and the boos said it all. Had he decided to come forward for the championship rounds fans wouldn't be as critical. Like so many American fighters right now he seems to think that winning is the key to success, it's not. The key is to win and look good doing it. That doesn't mean knocking everyone out but it does mean stepping up the aggression. One of the Charlo's seems to have a very similar problem of winning but not shining. Boxing is very much a "what have you done for me lately?" sport and wins over JSK, Chaves, Diaz and Bundu aren't "enough" for many who have heard that Thurman is the next star of boxing. If he wants to keep telling us he's this, that and the other then he needs to prove it. In many it's like David Haye at Heavyweight talking about how he deserved the Klitschko's the minute he set foot in the division whilst running around the ring against Valuev, beating Audley and an old Ruiz.
