I've gotta say, Keith Thurman has really come a long way, and is evolving at an excellent rate. I was particularly impressed by his use of distance and footwork in the fight. His awareness in there really showed and he knew where he was at all times.

    "Thank you SAN DIEGO!!!!!" :rofl:rofl

Yeah, he was very aware, up until the post-fight interview! lol
He proved he has the goods last night.

I thought he was average at best. Please forgive me for going against the grain.

He hits hard, and that's about it. In virtually every other category, he's rather ordinary.

I wouldn't call it amazing by any stretch. He's still developing and for a good portion of last night, fought Chaves' fight. He also showed that he does have the will and toughness to win a hard fight, which is something you don't really know a fighter has in him until you see it.

That's not to say he won't learn and improve from that fight going forward, but he's still got plenty of work to do. I'm happy Thurman delivered, but he's not quite there yet.

I have been sayinging it for awhile, they are moving Thurman along at the perfect pace. I though early last night he may have bit off more than he can chew, but he listened to his corner and worked the ring well and wore a game Chaves down. Thurman continues to take the right steps.

Thurman should get a nice recognized fighter in his next fight.

I agree, I like the pace they're setting for him. He's getting experience and being challenged, but not overwhelmed. For awhile, I was concerned they were going to do nothing but line up bums for him and then drop him into the deep end.

He's not the finished product and his generalship isn't amazing, but he's improving, and that's the key. As for his next fight, no need to look too far- why not put him in against Soto-Karass, who's developed into a nice fringe contender/top class gatekeeper?

Apparently the joke was too subtle for most to understand.

i could eventually be proven wrong but i don't see thurman becoming one of the elites at 147.

Thurman has a lot more going for him than just power.

His ability to adjust .... control the center of the ring... create and recognize openings is far above average.
