Both of them are power punchers who base their offenses on countering with well timed precise shots. They need to have a great sense of time because neither of them are particularly fast or explosive, their power seems to be based on natural strength rather than the type of power that is based on fast twitch explosive muscle fibers a la Tyson, Tua. Golovkin is a master of staying in a range that's just out of the opponent's reach so it's difficult for the opponent to hit him and he does this while simultaneously putting on constant pressure so it's very draining on the opponent's fighting spirit to constantly get hit without being able to hit back. Golovkin also seems to possess the superior chin as he's never been wobbled while Thurman was clearly wobbled by a Soto Karass overhand while fighting on the Broner-Maidana undercard.

Kind of reminds me of George Groves at times.

Agreed I think he fights a bit like Haye and Groves.

I disagree. Haye and Groves, specifically Haye in my opinion possesses great speed and explosiveness unlike Thurman and Golovkin.

Don't see the GGG comparison at all.

Not like GGG at all. He's more like a big-mouth Jeff Lacy.
